Bag: Mothereffin sexy, dirty, badass, bangin tune...
Turning: See above, proper songwriting, although noel should’ve sang this, liam butchers the verses
Rapture: Kind of Force of nature 2 for me
Outta time: Nice tune, really hate the refrain though doesn’t work and the uninspired solo is dissapointing
High horse: Brilliant, noel should be writing more songs at this level of innovation
Where Theres Life: Great groove/bass and drum sound, good song
Aint Got Nothing: makes my ears bleed
Reality: this isnt an oasis song. Kind of embarassing
Soldier On: A half finished song. Whats finished is good but cmon write a full song fellas
Overall, its in line with the last few releases. Nothing special sadly

Bag it up- people have said, banging tune. Oasis have never written a less than excellent opener. I think my new playlist is gonna be.. RnRS Hello DYKWIM FITB HT TUTS BIU 9.5/10 the Turning- as of right now the chorus seems a tad bland, could be very catchy. I'm absolutely diggin the drums though. 7.5/10 rapture- I love this tune. 9/10 TSOTL- solid Oasis right here 8/10 outta time- I really like this song, it really is songbirds brother. 8/10 high horse- I'm still getting used to the vocal effect but I think it is genius. 9/10 Falling Down- 10/10, it's got heart. 10/10 TBWTL- good chill song but possibly my least favorite. 7/10 AGN- I like this tune, not as good as MOS but as I said before it's like Oasis/kasabian coke sex. It's not enough on it's own but it fits in well. 7.5/10 NOR- great beat and guitar work 7.5/10 SO- a vastly improved better man. 8/10
lastly, I can see how this is a lot of music to digest. I expect it to grow vastly

Bag It Up - 8.5/10 The Turning - 9.5/10 Waiting For The Rapture - 6.5/10 The Shock of the Lightning - 9/10 I'm Outta Time - 7/10 High Horse Lady - 8/10 Falling Down - 8.5/10 To Be Where There's Life - 9/10 Ain't Got Nothin' - 8/10 The Nature of Reality - 7/10 Soldier On - 3/10
this is after two listens back to back. my biggest whinge is why are they holding the same chord at the end of some songs for around a minute just looping whilst adding a few random sounds here and there and as for soldier on, well about 100 seconds of the same chord, its just boring at the end. there are some great songs on this album but whilst listening to them i'm expecting them to go places which they dont go, there def room for another chorus at the end of the turning, that song has proper blown me away easily best oasis song for years. I'm Outta Time is well over rated, like other people say its structure is all wrong, too much chorus and not enough verse. Theres alot i'd change about this album structure wise and i might have a go at editing some songs and playing around with them and i'd 100% guarentee it'd sound better. NOL is good in principle but repeats too much, i can see people at my local rock club moshing to that if the guitars were heavier and it was a little quicker. TBWTL is another great song that is getting too much stick. AGN sounds alot better than the demo we all heard and i'm liking it. Soldier On is the weakest on the album, Oasis can write such good epic album closers but we havent had that since Morning Glory and BHN, maybe next time we'll get the 10 minute flag waver and i hope its gonna be Record Machine.
Over all it gets a good 7.63/10
p.s. i just read my review and it really doesnt sound like a 7.63 review from what what i put, anyway thats that. By the way, is it just my copy or is the volume really low on every ones?

This album flows alot better than there past three albums, i mean theres no A bell will ring, or KTDA or PAITM which is a good thing, the filler on this album is better than any filler on there previous albums. Enjoyed the album alot Thanks ETHAN!! Just open up your mind and realise oasis dont always need to write anthems

Impressed. A lot of new sounds, the songs often go down unexpected paths, and the density and variety of production are best savored in a dark room with wraparound headphones. Shame about the upload quality (which is why I won't listen to it much until the album's properly released). My opinion isn't going to be too different from the consensus on here. The standout tracks for me are Bag It Up, The Turning, Falling Down, and The Nature of Reality. The only song that I think is weak is Soldier On, which just keeps - you know- soldiering on and on. A weak ending to a strong record. A great piece of rock music that had me smiling a lot when I listened to it.

Pretty average, sorry...
Two listens now...just not impressed at all...
I'm outta time, is really, really average after all the hype.
Why let Andy Bell and Gem archer write for the album?
Really dodgy production...
I agree noel wanted to write all new songs and not go for some of the demos from the last record like Stop the Clocks and Dream of My Record Machine, but they were pretty decent tunes...
Very, very disappointing indeed...

"Why let Andy Bell and Gem archer write for the album?"
Because They've contributed superb tracks in the past.
"Really dodgy production..."
Not at all.
"Very, very disappointing indeed..."
No. As one person has already said "best since BHN."
I think as we listen more to this album, and the bias towards past albums over this album wears out which it will, this may be in many opinions the third or second best album by Oasis.

The production dodgy? Ha.
Obviously this isn't an album for everyone. Which, for me, is a good thing: it's better to have something that a few people love and a few are disappointed by than an album which no-one loves or hates

High Horse Lady - Absolutely Top. One of Noel's most innovative songs to date. Like the "Western" twang and beat it incorporates. Much better than FON. Those critics who say Oasis doesn't write "unique" songs are put well to rest on this one.
HOWEVER!
Although Noel's vocal effects adds to the character of the song, doesn't it sound like he's singing out of a small antique box? Noel has a much stronger un-modulated voice than Liam does, and I think this song would be slightly better without so much production on Noel's voice. Ex. the production of his voice on TIOBI or WDIAGW.
Also, what's with the seagulls at the end? I understand the footsteps in gravel, but there are no seagulls in a Western!
Thoughts about Noel's voice on High Horse Lady?

Bag It Up 9.5/10 (Excellent besides for - heebee geebees? wtf?) The Turning 10/10 (Second best song on the album behind FD, Noel's a genious) Waiting for the Rapture 10/10 (Did I mention Noel's a genious) The Shock of the Lightning 9.5/10 (Solid.) I'm Out of Time 10/10 (Thanks for taking 9 years to write that song Liam, that should be the required amount of time for all his songs) High Horse 11/10 (Wins the competition between other slap in the face Oasis song titles - i.e., Digsy's Dinner, She's Electric, Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is, Mucky Fingers, etc) Falling Down 11/10 (My favorite Oasis track. ever.) TBWTL 7/10 ("We got to move it's what we do? " Am I hearing that lyric correctly?) Ain't Got Nothing 8/10 (Prefered the leaked demo, but great tribute to the night in jail) The Nature of Reality 8.5/10 (Alright, but would have expected Andy to have come out with a much more epic tune during the last 3 years) Soldier On 8.5/10 (How about a 10 minute proper Record Machine instead? I hope the Coral are happy.) 94/100

I'm Outta Time may be Liam's greatest vocal ever- not to mention best tune he's ever written. 10/10 for it. I could tell a classic before it was over.

BAG IT UP - Liam doesn't sound like Liam at first and we hear his raw voice which I love, then he just rips it...this song has a great groove. 9/10
THE TURNING - Very musically driven, plus a classic sounding Oasis solo to boot. Beauty. 8/10
WAITING FOR THE RAPTURE - Hear all the ranges and tones of Noel's voice in this one. Pretty heavy guitar and bass line. "Better Man's" opening riff sprinkled throughout the song...great riff, solid song. 8/10
THE SHOCK OF THE LIGHTNING - Nothing new here, everything has been said. Love the rock aspect and just before the second verse starts...there is more to be explored on this album. 8/10
I'M OUTTA TIME - Lovely flow to this song. Has that euphoric asend into the chorus which delivers, impressed with this piece. Easily a brother of Let there be Love and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. 9/10
(GET OFF YOUR) HIGH HORSE LADY - Noel's crisp voice accompanies claps, an acoustic and a drum until about 1:40 when the rich, full sound this song was looking for comes to be. Fantastic tune. 9/10
FALLING DOWN - Noel digs to the depths of his soul for this song, he is very passionate and strong in this "heard before" ballad. Needs a few listens for approval. 8.5/10
TO BE WHERE THERE'S LIFE - Sister of "Who Feels Love". Psychadelic and groovy have been thrown around a lot about this album but here's why. Not a grower...more a shrinker. 7.5/10
AIN'T GOT NOTHING - Simple, Rock and Roll...sounds like someone from the 50's got hold of a telecaster and played whatever came to their mind...works well. Unfortunatley doesn't fit too well on the album as a whole. Much the same as "The Meaning of Soul". 7/10
THE NATURE OF REALITY - By the guitar you wouldn't think it's Oasis...but man what a riff...well done here...in your face rock. This song throws you every which way...very trippy sound. 8/10
SOLDIER ON - Sing "Better Man" slowly to this guitar...you'll nail it. This song is the weakest point of the album but still shines at parts. Needs more work to be at par with the rest of the album. 7/10
