Bag It Up - 7/10 The Turning - 8/10 Waiting For The Rapture - 10/10 The Shock of the Lightning - 6/10 I'm Outta Time - 6/10 High Horse Lady - 5/10 (if this had more lyrics it would be a classic) Falling Down - 8/10 To Be Where There's Life - 7/10 Ain't Got Nothin' - 6/10 (Noel doesn't do the falsetto harmony, which is all I liked) The Nature of Reality - 5/10 (too much jamming, not enough singing, but I do like the melody) Soldier On - 5/10 (needs more lyrics and melody) Disappointing record... Noel has some stunners but overall it leaves a lot to be desired. Liam just isn't cutting it as a songwriter. If Noel cleaned up his tunes they'd be great, but right now they need more lyrics and melody- and this goes for I'm Outta Time as well. Honestly, it sounds like an ELO tune and they do it way better. Waiting For The Rapture is the best song on here, IMO. Shock Of The Lightening needs some cleaning up, but it has clever chords. "Liam not cutting it as a song writer" "I'm Outta Time: 6/10"....Ok Robohump, how bout you fuck off already then? Yeah holmes "bag it up!"

haha Dudes.... seriously, what's so awesome about it? It's a pretty ballad, but it's nowhere near Don't Look Back or Wonderwall.
Liam just doesn't have the same chops at writing melodies as Noel does. It's nice, it's just not as amazing as everyone's saying it is.

i've never been a big fan of BHN. i think DBTT is better than BHN. this might be the best since WTSMG. will see in a couple months
Bag it up- good stuff. love liam’s voice. trancy, i like this much more than the clip The Turning- LOVE THE INTRO. love liam's voice. love the "groove". shake your ragdoll babaaaaayyy. from here on i'll type as i listen, cause this song just ended Waiting For the Rapture- Noel sounds good. like that falsetto stuff. ha had to drop the "revolution" line. cool song, liked the stomp TSOTL- just skipped to the end so i could hear the transition to i'm outta time.. I'm Outta Time- k there's wasn't a transition. ooo spooky, i'm diggin the strings and acoutic pluck. kinda James Bondish..haha. effin A. i heard the piano riff from the beatles' a day in the life in the background. that chorus man. Liam's structures are very odd. but good. the song goes by fast. i like it like that, doesn't overstay it's welcome. Get off your high horse lady- wasn't lookin forward too much to this one. lovin the stump, sounds like a pretty classic blues song. the acoustic riff that cascades in reminds me of Fade In-Out. pretty good song. Falling Down- Skip. kinda bummed this is the last Noel song. it's like this song divides the album To Be Where There's Life- fuck yeah. this beat is mental. and that riff. christ. dig out your soul is epic. i'm just nodding my head with this one trancy. this song is amazing. easily gem’s best. GOOD JOB GEM!! Ain’t Got Nothing- fuzzing. pretty much the same Nature of Reality- haha, sounds more like a Gem song to me. i love liam’s vocals here. good song so far. love that riff in there. Soldier On- i think this is great. love the beat and liam’s melody. good stuff. nice closer.

Ughh.. it was an example. It's just an OK, pretty song. It's not the second coming of Lennon or anything. It kind of comes and goes without saying too much or doing anything clever.
I think everyone going nuts for it is just buying into the hype.

a lot of people are comparing this record to BHN but this record reminds me most of SOTSOG. lots of great bass and drums on this record, but i am very very disappointed in the lack of guitars. To Be Where Theres Life is the worst song Oasis have done in my book.... anyways a disappointing first listen, maybe it will grow on me but music should not have to.

TBWTL is the worst oasis song??? cause it has no guitars? that's crazy. i don't give a crap if there's loads of guitars. just some good tunes.

Still listening for the first time...
Bag It Up - 8.5/10 The Turning - 9.5/10 Waiting For the Rapture - 9/10 TSOTL - 8/10 I'm Outta Time - 6/10 High Horse Lady - 9/10 Falling Down - 8.5/10 To Be Where There's Life - 8/10 Ain't Got Nothin - 7.5/10 The Nature of Reality - 9/10 Soldier On - 8/10
So far the stand outs for me have been The Turning, Rapture and High Horse Lady. I'm Outta Time...i don't understand the praise. It's really boring on the first listen. Falling Down sounds better to me in the context of the album, as does Ain't Got Nothin'. The Nature of Reality has just started...fucking hell how crunchy is that riff. I'm digging this. It's got a sleazy beat. Better than I expected.
Now I'm about to Soldier On. Love the verses. Digging this so far. And it's over...definitely not an epic closer, but decent nonetheless.
Overall I LOVE the sound of the album. A lot of different arrangements, vocal styles and harmonies. Diversity is a good thing, but one of the best things is the energy. There seems to be a lot of energy on the record as a whole. I only find that it drags with I'm Outta Time. The rest sounds great to me. I must be going through a non-Oasis ballad stage cuz I just don't see the appeal with that song.

Bag It up - Decent 7/10
The Turning - Best song on album for me Bit of a roses/ian brown groove to it 9/10
Waiting for the rapture - Decent again a bit fkin blur tho in places 7/10
Shock of the lightening - Nothing to write home about a steady effort 6/10
I'm Outa Time - Great verse great chorus...great chorus..ok so i guess another chorus..and we're out of time. I think honestly this song coulda done with a different structure almost an epic but it overuses the chorus. 8/10 for half the song 6/10 for the other half
Get Off your high horse Lady - Another song that in parts is under realised could have been so much more its a 7/10 (shoulda been a 9)
Falling down - People are divided on this song, i quite like it 8/10
To be where there's life - Wicked groove and beat, a bit empty on the production in places. Nice concept shoulda stuck some geetar in it tho sounds much better live 7/10
Aint Got nothing - Averagely average, ok for a filler song 5/10
Nature of Reality - not bad..a bit borning tbh..average again 5/10
Soldier on - This is what happens when youve run out of ideas again 5/10
Verdict a solid 8 songs let down by a weak closing trio over all 7/10

Seriously, the first three songs + Falling Down are some of Oasis' best. If only they'd put as much effort into the rest of them.

Bag It Up: 8/10. Just who in God's name was that singing the verses, then? The Turning: 9/10. Should be cracking live. Waiting For The Rapture: 9/10. Dirty as fook. The Shock Of The Lightning: 8/10. Better within the confines of the album. I'm Outta Time: 9/10. Now don't you dare tell me Liam's a shit songwriter. (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady: 6/10. Better once it gets going. Falling Down: 9/10. As mega now as it was the first time. Best on the album. To Be Where There's Life: 7/10. Gem's weakest contribution to an album yet, methinks. Sounds much better live. Does actually need guitars. Ain't Got Nothin': 8/10. I've liked it from day one. Stomping. The Nature Of Reality: 9/10. That guitar riff, fucking hell! Soldier On: 7/10. It starts well enough, but plods on a bit after the first couple of minutes.
It's not as good as Definitely Maybe. Or Morning Glory. So you can put those thoughts to bed right away. It's a great album, no question, but when the dust settles I think it'll fall just short of breaking into my personal top three.
Yes, I prefer SOTSOG. Just.

Noel has completely redeemed himself as a songwriter on this album. All of his songs sound fucking awesome. Liam's the dud for me. I love parts of Soldier On but I bet they could've replaced IOT and AGN with 2 better songs from other members. Andy and Gem deliver if you ask me...especially Andy.

i rate this whole album 10/10
in order to LOVE this album and appreciate it the way you should, you gotta dig out your soul! and you'll find that this IS the best album of this century, may i say, the "revolver" of our time.

It's nowhere near the glory days imo (those who think I'm being stupid, you'd probably do everything Noel said), first 5 songs are alright then wtf?
