so you and anyone agreeing with you can have your opinion but others can't??? Columbia Gas Panic The Importance of Being Idle The Hindu Times just some in a line of Oasis songs with names baring little or no relevance to the songs actual lyrics. It's not a new thing for Oasis. that's not the point he's trying to make the fact is, "The Turning" features the words "C'mon, when the rapture takes me, will you be by my side" as previously stated, Oasis has never mentioned the rapture before in their lyrics, so it seems odd that they have a song with the word "Rapture" in the lyrics... and then the song following it is called "Waiting for the Rapture", yet doesnt contain the words rapture in the lyrics as far as we know.... exactley, it has nothing to do with a title bearing no relevance, it was an observation that others have obviously noticed that waiting for the rapture seems to be more of an appropiate title for the turning and vice versa. To the people who say who cares. Theres a gazillion mindless posts on this site that anyone could say who cares to. If you feel who cares then why even post a response at all. Move along. |

maybe they just liked the word "rapture" so much that they decided to use it to name another song, something like that happened to me. i was writing about how difficult it was for me to get some sleep in a lot of my songs, so i decided it to make one specifically about that subject and named it "insomnia"

Maybe it has more to do with the feeling of the tune then the lyrics? I know that's not how it usually works with Oasis, but you never know.

FFS MATE GIVE IT UP  Honestly i read this forum all the time, i love Oasis as much as the next man on here, like anyone else have met Liam a couple of times, hell he even listened to my cd in a Land Rover backstage at V, Noel a couple of times, but seriously, "any thoughts"?? Any thoughts on what mate?! Like, Noel has put one word in one song but called it another. Like the fella says above. Be Here Now. Not in the song title. ANY THOUGHTS ON THAT!??! The ironic thing is, it's fans who make points like this thread title that Noel would 100% rip into/take the piss out of. Fact! Just admit you've clogged up this otherwise rather excellent forum with your really quite innane opinions and we can draw a line under it and concentrate on the season ahead.  |

get angry over a forum much? This isn't CNN buddy, don't you ever have a conversation with people that isn't about the most important news in the world. Just becuase you name drop and are best freinds with liam doesn't mean your opinion means anything else.
It would have been cool if waiting for the rapture had been first, then the turning, because you are kinda "waiting for the rapture." haha Stupid I know, but whatever, I'm bored

its a fair point to the original poster, it crossed my mind too amongst repeated listens, obviously it doesn't matter or anything, but still its just an interesting trivial piece of oasis history, so no need for everyone to get pissed about it, he's not implying noel is ripping anyone off, he's just pointing out a fact!
