Hey everyone.
I was at the Seattle show and I can tell you with much certainty that the music stand with the white paper on it -- It is not a lyric sheet.
How do I know?
The sheet was brought out before the show, and Noel did not touch it all show. If it was a lyric sheet, I'd suspect that it would be multiple pages long, and since it was not, I suspect one of a few things is true....
1) The lyrics of every song in the set were printed in a minuscule font on ONE sheet of paper because while Noel is suffering from early onset alzheimer's, with his maturing age, his eyesight is actually improving!
2) The sheet was not a lyric sheet at all.
3) It was a lyric sheet to just one song... because Noel can remember the words to all the songs except for one...
Options 1 and 3 don't seem plausible at all to me.
So, what was it if it was not a lyric sheet? The best I can come up with is a Set List. But why would they put it on a music stand? I don't know. I have played shows before and usually your put it on the floor.
Hope this clears up any ideas that Noel needs a lyric sheet.

That's all fair and well, if only it wasn't a sheet with lyrics on it.

That's all fair and well, if only it wasn't a sheet with lyrics on it. i have seen the video that you are referencing that looks like it has lyrics on it. the best I can come up with is possibly option 2. but again, why would Noel need lyrics? he has never needed a lyric sheet before?

It was definitely lyrics...probably to a new song he doesn't know that well. Or since he's playing DLBIA in a different key, maybe it's the new chords changes. But there were definitely more words than just a set list.

It's probably TBWTL lyrics.... I mean, when you right a song it's not so hard to remember it is it?

It's probably TBWTL lyrics.... I mean, when you right a song it's not so hard to remember it is it? That's true but he's also written hundreds and hundreds of songs over the years, and taken massive amounts of drugs. It's not so crazy to think he needs a few weeks to remember the lyrics to all the new stuff

But there were definitely more words than just a set list. FOR FUCK SAKE. He played DLBIA in that key houndreds of times. Look at a gig from the stop the clocks tour. I (may be wrong) but i think he played it in that key at MTV unplugged.

At the end of the day, does it matter!

I just feel like it's kind of cheap. If the lyric sheet doesn't disappear within the next 2 or 3 gigs, I'll start to be legitimately worried about Noel's mental health.

Its a note to remind Noel to take his pills. and to remind him to kick Liam in the arse if he starts singing like kermit. JK
It's probably note's and chords for the old/new songs. Just in case they decide last minute to play My Big Mouth and stuff.

Yeah, at first I also thought it's the new key chords to DLBIA but then I researched YouTube and of course he had played it with a capo already earlier.
I don't know. It definitely is easy to forget chords to songs even you yourself have written, but it does look a bit amateurish in a bigt show like this.
Then again, I think Liam has his lyrics in a TV-like monitor in front of him. He's talked about it in the interviews (eg. he doesn't sing the other verse on Acquiesce "...'Cause the guy doesn't show another verse for it", etc.).

He's reading the lyrics. Doesn't really matter if you ask me to be honest. As long as it still sounds good.

Is it not true that the sheet was there for the entire gig? If no, Noel has roadies to move things off the stage for him. No need for lyrics for one song to be there for the entire gig.

My company does image analysis for small resolution photos to read stuff like this. I'll try to see if I can run it through our processor.

Noel is definitely reading the sheet during Falling Down. At tonights concert, he actually pulled away from the mic several times to check it during the song. He doesnt quite have that second verse down yet.
