The last three lead singles from each of the last three Oasis albums (The Hindu Times, Lyla, and now The Shock of the Lightning) are in the key of B. Coincidence?

No, they weren't even planning on lyla being the lead single until the last minute.

Sony actually made an intelligent decision for once.

I'm not sure about Mucky Fingers... Noel said they didn't have a lead single... thay had an obvious one (TIOBI) but it wasen't a good ideia to put a tune sang by Noel as first single... my guess is that Noel was looking through old stuff and he found something in the key B and said "That's it!!"... after all, the songs does have some similarities in the music shites

shit, Lyla gets a lot of crap for being a poor first single, even though I think its a decent song... but Mucky Fingers??? You've gotta be kidding me...

Lyla got some decent airplay in the U.S., we'll see about TSOTL (which I like a lot).

Pretty much every rock song Oasis ever wrote is in B. I am too llazy to write a list but take for example Be Here Now, AATW, etc.

its for two reasons:
First noel likess to put a capo on the second fret and he obviously likes the A major chord shape, which means B major. Also probably because playing A chord shape leaves the high E string open and is versatile as a pedal point chord formation (chords with a common note).
the second reason is probably because its a good key for liams voice
