Ok, so when I heard Don't Go Away on a local rock station yesterday, it pretty much confirmed to me what I thought had been going on for a few weeks: there is definitely a much bigger stir around this Oasis release than any of the last three...at least here in good ole' Milwaukee Wisconsin.
They mention the upcoming album consistently and even though they're not playing TSOTL, they always add that it can be found on youtube.
None of this kind of thing has gone on here with the prior releases. Who knows if WB is behind it, but hearing Don't Go Away on the radio is evidence enough that something's going on, as I haven't heard that on the airwaves in a decade.
Anyone notice anything similar elsewhere?

I've noticed a lot of WTSMG stuff being played lately in NY. Haven't been much of a radio listener in recent years since we had most of our rock stations killed off, but defintely heard them a decent amount lately.

In Chicago, they have playing TSOTL at least 3-4 times a day since it has been released on Q101.
Also, I heard Live Forever on the radio yesterday which they never play. So there may be some truth for an Oasis push on radio from Warner Music.

I, idiot that I am, barely listen to the radio, mainly because the principle rock station around here is oldies. But I doubt there is any "stir" around DOYS where I live.

I don't listen to the radio ever since they took off our beloved Y100 and replaced it with another cRap station a few years ago. (Although 104 is decent) My sister did hear TSOTL on the radio here in Philly the other day though. She said she had to cleanse the car (she's sick of me always playing Oasis lol) with play Bright Eyes (a band which I banned from the car before she was able to drive - fucking whining bitch he is)

I heard "Wonderwall" playing over the speakers last Friday as I was eating a late afternoon lunch at Papa Gino's in southern New Hampshire.

I've posted this before but Boston plays Oasis all the time. I've heard TSOL five times on my own. Looking up the radio stations website, you can view the playlist and upon viewing that I've seen that they play (all three major alternative stations) TSOL at least three times a day!!! I've also heard DLBIA, DGA, Some Might Say, Wonderwall, CS, and Live Forever in the past week. All American oASIS FANS move to BOSTON!!!! IT's like being in Manchester!!

Just did a check of Alt Nation Channel 21 on Sirius Satellite Radio. They hadn't played TSOTL since Friday, no doubt because all weekend they mostly do top chart lists. Via Dogstarradio.com database search, saw it just got played at 8:12pm with a "New Music" introductory bumper. First I've seen of that bumper, so should hopefully go into regular rotation now. Good way to kick off a Monday. You can check their plays across all of Sirius here: tinyurl.com/6b5ry4Falling Down remix has been getting steady play on the techno station. D'You Know What I Mean even got a play today on the college rock station.

Today on a station that is in Canada but is picked up by majority in Detroit (93.9 The River) Anyways they played Don't Look Back In Anger which pissed me off at the time. But after the song was done the DJ said "that was requested by so and so, but Oasis due have a new album coming out in Oct. and just released they're new single TSOTL. I wanted to play this after DLBIA." Then they blasted out TSOTL.
Our main station in Detroit is 89x, I have not heard the TSOTL on there yet but I haven't been listening lately. They did mention last week that they had a new one from Oasis coming this Friday.

at 2:30 in the morning Monday i heard Shock Of The Lightning on NY radio station 101.9, driving home from the train station. It was awesome to hear new Oasis on the radio considering Lyla got no radio play at all in the US.

104.5 in Philly already plays DLBIA and Wonderwall all the time so there hasn't really been an increase. I've already heard TSOTL a few times since Friday though. They also made mention of Noel's comments on Amy Winehouse.

this just goes to show that the last 3 albums really have had no push from the record label at all.but it does help that the tsotl is a rock n roll masterpiece.wouoldnt shock me if they really get a top selling record on the states again with ths one ,well see but from what we can make out,the states is loving oasis again an they actually know theres an album coming out an everybody seems to be sayin that the record is fantastic

Just emailed Sirius and got a note back from one of the DJs about a correction.
They've been playing the song as "The Shock of Lightning" since Friday, and the DJ even live introed it as that this morning.
We'll see how it comes up next time. Saw they played it on both Alt Nation and Left of Center today with the incorrect name.

yeah well... here in Dallas they have been playing it 4 times a day, but not 4 times during the day... more like 4 times every 24 hours, which isn't "that good" but whatever... i sent the DJ an email requesting it and you know what happened!?? i really couldn't believe it, THE DJ EMAILED ME BACK SAYING "I ALREADY PLAYED IT TWICE TODAY" i was so upset!! i emailed the idiot back again saying, well i missed it, i thought that's what you were supposed to do(request it) but whatever... they'll play stuff like "Linkin Park" 4 or 5 times in a 2 hour span on a regular basis, it's very frustrating.

But, the dumb twat Madison still introed the song as "Shock of Lightning". Whatever.
