In general people/critics are to hard on Oasis and expect to much! As I reflect on all my fav bands apart from Oasis, Beatles, La's, Roses, Smiths and even the newer crop the Libs(brilliant) who amongst them lasted 15 yrs? I am not comparing Oasis to any of these bands particularly the Beatles. the people/critics who have said they sound like the Beatles over the years are obviously casual music fans. What proper Beatle fan or Oasis fan for that matter could walk into a room and get the two confused?
I have listened to both new songs and love hearing both for different reasons. For those who are moaning about the lyrics on tsol get over it! Rock n Roll lyrics as far back as Tutti Frutti have been about the beat and rythem/ feeling not the lyrics. I good give counless examples through the years but do not have the time.
Many think they could/should have called it a day after Knebworth? Then we wouldnt have had tiobi, Lets all make believe, Underneath the sky, Who put the weight and countless other great moments that again I dont have time to mention.
Sure there are bound to be daft moments over 15yrs Meaning of Soul, put yer money and probably 'Aint got nothin' but what band that has been together for this long hasnt had those moments? For that matter how many bands produce albums where every song is genious that are this far along in their careers?
Even if Aint got nothin is as bad as most expect..... This should not bring down the whole album! be happy to just get a few decent songs at this point and focus on the posiitive!
Even a song like Lord dont Slow' which didnt hit me at first is sounding great turne up to ten and hearing the Liam version w/ noel on harmonies is just straight ahead R nRoll!
Sorry for the length of the rant, no disrespect meant as everyone is entitled to their opinion but this is one american fan who has been their since the beginning and based on the current state of Radio in the US is quite happy to have Oasis around.

Listen douchebag ive been an oasis fan since i heard supersonic on the radio during its US premiere didnt know who it was and immediately sought out everything theyve ever done.
SOTL is lazy and a bad attempt at noel trying something with a groove, but sadly he forgot to write a chorus.
Dont blame us real fans for being dissapointed with the soul crushing reality that the days of getting an oasis album with 12 songs that blow you away, that make you feel like you can fly, are obviously behind us.

They should have called it a day after 'Giants'. At that point, it was clear that the magic had died. At this point, it's like "why are they still making music"?

TSOTL has a chorus for fuck sake. Bands have to evolve, the song is kind of a new direction but not in a bad way whatsoever. If ever a band went to fuck after their first 3 albums its Radiohead!!!!

The only time "Oasis negativism" bothers me is when its clearly to get a rise out of people.
However, there is nothing wrong about criticising the band artistically if you dont like something. Being that we are the ones that buy the records, go to the shows, buy the merchandise and support them, we have more right than anyone to be critical if we dont like something.

DBTT in my opinion is a brilliant album. There is not one song on it I don't like. It was also a new sound in comparison to HC. HC was their worst album. Thats not saying it's a bad album. It's very good comparing it to most other bands best. In their last 3 records Oasis have produced some of the best rock/pop songs of all time "Go Let It Out","Gas Panic", "Stop Crying Your Heart Out", "The Hindu Times","Songbird","Lyla", The Importance", "Lord Don't Slow Me Down"and in my opinion "The Shock Of The Lightning".... So just listen if you like it..If you don't go listen yo "Definitely Maybe" on repeat.

It doesnt take time to get used to new material. It should be immediate. When i first heard DLBIA i was shocked by how good it was.
Ever hear the expression people dont know what they like, they like what they know
More you hear something more youll like it.
Lets be real here. TSOTL is a fucking B-side at best. Really embarassing since Noel doesnt even have to write a full album now. Hes got three other band mates writing tunes!!!

The only problem with TSOTL is the chorus. Which is about 6/10. The rest of the song is 8.5-9/10...

I seriously feel bad for all you negative nancy fools. While the majority of us are get a massive buzz and ever building excietement towards this new album, the select few on here are wallowing in pity. Shame, really. But it's your loss - just remember that.

I want to revise my view on SOTL, it's almost a truly great song (chorus lacking something) and because of this deficiency it becomes a very mediocre song.

I'm sorry, but everything Oasis touches is gold (Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is being the ONLY exception). Their sound is certainly different now than it was back in the day, but not in a bad way. TSOTL and Falling Down sound like Oasis with a side of Kasabian. Music must evolve. If they just keep putting out the same kind of songs over and over again, people will get bored. Oasis is going to have one hell of a collection of songs when they're done.
