After these little teases and waiting for 3 and a half years, has oasis streched this out 2 far. I for one am expecting a good tune but at the same time I'm all shocked out by now.

I don't think there is any hype.
We've heard the opening 20 seconds which to me sounds average, not great but not bad. I'm expecting a typical 1st single from Oasis, a solid 7 or 8 out of 10.

For some people, this will be shit. For others, it will be regular Oasis. For critics, it will be shit. For others, they will blindly gloat it around as if it's the greatest thing ever brought into existence and it more important then there own lives (and that's true in some cases *cough*robohump and theriddler1*cough*)

I'm hoping for something better than Lyla. The first 20 seconds sound a bit similar to Lyla.

I agree with you... It sounds like lyla.
I didn't catch it at first but the backround minus the drums has lyla written all over it. And I hate lyla but its ok live.

lord dont' slow me down riff is more like lyla imo They're all based around the A chord with a capo on the 2nd fret aren't they? Noel's formulaic first single chord/riff/thing for the last 3 albums it seems, plus LDSMD

lord dont' slow me down riff is more like lyla imo Yet another oasis-by-the-numbers song. When I first heard LDSMD I thought, "OK. Decent song." I hope they try some new things on DOYS.

I agree that there's not much hype... like someone else said, i hope to better than Lyla, but a good, not an excelent song (7 or 8 out of ten)..

One way liam sings the lyrics is catchy but there's this scratch sound that's apparent in lyla and LDSMD that you hear in the shock.. I hope they shy away from that this album.

Exhibit A: Live Forever > Stand By Me > Sunday Morning Call Exhibit B: Wonderwall > Morning Glory > D'You Know What I Mean? Exhibit C: Rock N Roll Star > The Hindu Times > Lyla Exhibit D: The Importance Of Being Idle > Part Of The Queue
Now who honestly gives a fuck about repetitive chord structure?

This sounds nothing like lyla at all. They've never used this chord progression (at least the verse) in any of their songs before.
