The first time Noel Gallagher ever performed 'Don't Look Back In Anger' live was at Oasis' first ever arena show, at Sheffield Arena in April 1995, as part of his then-traditional solo acoustic interlude. "I only wrote it on the Tuesday before," he claims.
Does anyone have this?? I'd love to hear it...

That ain't the first time he played DLBIA though...
Not to sound like a total geek, (I'll leave that up to some other members on here) I read in an Oasis bio, and in a few other places, that he debut that song live somewhere in France.

Noel is also full of shit. He likes to fabricate shit all the time. Who knows, just thought I'd bring that up. I think it was at a gig in Paris actually. Read that in Paolo Hewitt's biography on them.

Read that in Paolo Hewitt's biography on them. No, it definitely was the Sheffield show. He claims he was practising it during the Paris show (2 days earlier) soundcheck. The Paris show was bootlegged as well, proving the track wasn't played there.

it showed it to Paul Mathurs ( i think its been awhile seen i've read "Take Me There") and told him about it and the first time he says "this is one is for Mathurs you haven't have heard this one yet" or something like that

it's slightly different than the final version but it gives me chills to think that this was the public debut of such a classic song.
