1. Bag It Up (Noel-written) Mid-paced stomp featuring the repeated line "Everything I believe in/Is telling me that I want more" 2. The Turning (Noel written) Floats along on a drum beat similar to The Zombies 'Time Of The Season' 3. Waiting for the Rapture (Noel-sung) Almost White-Stripes heavy. Lyric ("Revolution in the head") 4. Shock of the Lightning - like a masively improved version of It's Getting Better Man. Chorus (Love is a litany/a magical mystery) 5. I'm Outta Time - Beautiful, beautiful Liam balled (complete with Lennon sample) (incindentally, someone told me about this a couple of days back, more news on that when I get back from work), that pips Songbird has his finest singwriting hour 6. Get Of Your High Horse Lady (Noel-written) - Brief Wild Honey Pie-esque Noel curio 7. Falling Down - Lyrics: (I tried to talk to God/But to no avail) 8. To Be Where Ther's Life (Gem-written) Where the new found love of 'The Groove' is most apparent 9. Ain't Got Nothing - Indeed the track we all heard a few months back. Says it features a. all-new chorus, but the lyrics it prints are ones in the early version 10. The Nature Of Reality (Andy-written) Strung out psychedelia 11. Soldier On - (Liam-written) Final marching band mantra thanx to mr monobrow for this description This forserious?

That actually sounds reliable! Finally some news I can trust. I'm beginning to feel the wheels for the promotion of the new album are really starting to spin.
From the description its all sounding quite awesome. Good to see that the more 'groovy' and psychedelic songs are Bell/Archer filler, I was always a bit skeptical about that 'direction' anyway. Yeah this is looking FUCKING MEGA!
Two questions: 1. so then there is no secret bonus track afterall? 2. To Find True Love isnt actually waiting for the Rapture? (fingers crossed for a sexy Noel ballad as a b-side then)
FInally, Noel Gallgher is back in fucking form!

What exactly are the descriptions? Is it Noel's take on the songs, or the NME commenting on songs they've heard?

Two Answers: 1 The only known definite extra track is on the japanese edition, although still unknown of title 2. What made you think it was?

Cheers for clearing that up, ahhh! why is it the Japanese always get the extra tracks? To quote Basil Fawlty "Who won the bloody war anyway?!"
In answer to your second 'answer' it was just a naive speculation from someone who really wants to hear that damn song!

right im back from the shops and the descriptions seem to be written by the nme other intresting notes: Heavy, with lots of loud often bluesy guitars "The dynamic of the group was me playing guitar, Gem playing bass and Andy on keyboards" says Noel. Zak played the drums and that was it unless required, so Gem doesnt play alot of guitar on it, Andy doesnt play alot of bass and that seemed to work a little bit. The album is based on freakbeat-styled '60s grooves Liams unfinished songs of which Noel has 40 demos could be brilliant if Liam could be bothered to finish them NME were invited to watch the band rehearse although Liam was not present as he doesnt sing on wednesdays and Chris Sharrock is impressive on drums oh and that Lennon sample in Im Outta time is from speech

Liam doesn't sing on Wednesdays? What's that about? Sounds vaguely like something from the MTV Unplugged days... What's next? He pays you on Tuesday for a hamburger today?

Noel also taked about doing free stuff and had the idea of allowing people into the gigs for free but you would have to pay £70 to get out

I'm pretty gutted about the fact that there will be no Noel songs from 8 onwards, that's a real kick in the bollocks to me.
GOYHHL being semi-instrumental doesn't worry me as it sounded like one of those filler "rockers" like HIABP/ABWR/ICSAL when I first heard the song title. I'm now looking forward to it.
Ain't got nothin will still 90% be shite.
Off them descriptions I'm liking Bag it Up, Shock of the Lightning, Outta Time and the Oasis version of Falling Down.
I still can't fucking wait though.

3. Waiting for the Rapture (Noel-sung) Almost White-Stripes heavy. Lyric ("Revolution in the head") So now he's not just ripping off the Beatles, he's riping off dudes who write books about the Beatles! ;D (Revolution In The Head by Ian MacDonald. If you haven't read it and are into the Beatles I would STRONGLY urge you to get a copy. FANTASTIC book).

I found her on the corner of a street She has bruised up legs and real crusty feet Well I wasn't lookin' for the best Just a woman with more than one breast And she smiled politely with her crooked teeth And her upper lip is like a Christmas wreath Like I said I had, nothing to lose That's why they're called prostitution blues

STC and RM are b-sides at best. Get over it. Glad to see Liam singing most of the songs. And what the fuck is a 'semi' instrumental. That doesn't make sense. like columbia Columbia is no semi-instrumental. Get real!
