Or so the Sun seems to know. Usually this would be posted in the news area OASIS will kick off a massive world tour in October, I can reveal. The lads are due to announce their plans in the next few weeks — and the tour will be their boldest yet. The band, who had a 1994 hit with Live Forever, will start their dates in the UK this autumn, head off for more gigs, then return more than 12 months later to wrap things up at home. Wembley and their beloved Manchester City’s home ground will be among the UK venues. And some lucky fans will be able to see them play at the intimate Roundhouse in London for a filmed BBC special. The start of the tour will coincide with the release of seventh studio album Dig Out Your Soul, on October 6. A source revealed: “The tour is bigger than anything the band have done before. “They will be on the road for more than a year — possibly pushing 18 months. “The dates could easily run into three figures and will take them around the world. “It is on the kind of scale you would expect from THE ROLLING STONES. The fellas who have hatched the plan are very proud and excited.” Scraps I hope the Oasis lads have their hard hats ready. It’s a hell of a long time for volatile brothers NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER to spend together on the road. The band have had a fair few scraps on their travels. On a 1996 tour of the US the band nearly split up as Liam and Noel’s fighting reached new levels. And they haven’t mellowed quite yet either. Noel showed how he can still dish it out with a cutting jibe at ex-drummer TONY McCARROLL. Talking to the NME magazine about how new sticksman CHRIS SHARROCK was fitting in, Noel said: “The first few weeks I felt for him because he’s got to drum like four people. “He’s gotta play like our old drummers Tony McCarroll, ALAN WHITE and ZAK STARKEY and, of course, himself. “To play drums in Oasis is deceptively difficult. You can’t play like THE WHO’s KEITH MOON, particularly on the older stuff, because it wasn’t about drums. “On Lyla and tracks like that you can pretend to be Moon. “But the older stuff you’ve got to pretend you’re Tony McCarroll. “Sit there and be crap with a s**t haircut.” Let the fun and games begin .

well its the sun but hey its good news.
Some early stuff could be transformed into something more complex like the end of rock n roll star and the stuff Alan played was probably the most complex stuff drumming wise besides POTQ. It'll be cool to see how Chris plays out. Zak was the most talented drummer (and one of the best drummers in the past 30 years) they've ever had but he was a bit too heavy i think.

I'm in a win-win situation: Live in Philly, go to school in DC, and both cities are a quick train ride to NYC....sooo I should be able to attend one gig at one of the venues, preferably the city where I currently am at the time of the gig, but i'll def travel if need be, and even skip important lectures for this if it comes to it.
Looks v likely i'll be attending my first oasis gig!
