I read a lot of moaning regarding the credibility of the forum going downhill because of all the crap being posted in the Facts and Fiction board and that it has become Inet 2.
Obviously there will always be a delay with the moderation of threads. If a thread hasn't been moved to the playpen for a longer period (several hours ) it might be because there is some background info being checked to see if some real info is being passed on to us.
If a mod or myself are logged in and an apparent BS thread is posted it will be moved to the playpen asap. If I had a full time secretary I would have her/him do it for me, believe me.
thanks for your patience

It's a shame that you need to spend so much time weeding out all the junk in the first place. I still think most users question the credibility of other members more so than the credibility of the forum itself. I'm sure it will all pass over when the album is released.

I think if people were banned it would really cutback on the bullshit posts. There are zero repercussions for posting lies, or just insanely stupid posts that waste everyone's time.

yeah at least start dishing out weak long bans or something similar. and i think a good idea would be to make people wait for say 48 hours after they register before they can post in anything but the welcome section.

It's a great forum but for people coming in for the first time the ff section is the most entertaining and popular. Considering the state that is in the forum as a whole is not exactly going to be very popular... What you gonna do?

As much as the the hoaxers are a pain and an annoyance, they're not entirely to blame here.
So many people on here are so desperate for a leak, they keep responding to the hoax threads, which keeps the thread alive and only adds more fuel to the fire.
There's an easy solution. Don't respond to any thread that hints at a leak or mentions having heard the songs ahead of time. In a perfect world, these should all have a post count of 0. ZERO. Go ahead and read it if you want, just don't reply. It's that simple.
Why people are so eager to hear it ahead of time is beyond. It'll be out before you know it. And if does leak, you're going to hear about it in no time.

Just start permanently banning people, and close registration. The whole thing with waiting a few days to post is stupid. People would just wait, and then we would have more shit in a few days. And if we just ban people without closing registration, then they could easily get around the ban. Besides, it's not like we don't have enough connected people to get information. There's really nothing anyone new is bringing to the table.

isn't it rather strange that through out the day you will find more readers in the play pen than on the facts in fiction board? Kind of makes you go hmmmmmm

Close registration untill Oct 6. After that people may then join again The problem with closing registration is you obviously keep a great forum from growing. Look at how many members have joined in the past month or so and are now regular contributors.

Yeah but tabloid newspapers outsell the broadsheets People want to believe, and online there are no reservations on how rude or confrontational people will be. It's easy to say things to a screenname, maybe if you saw the face behind it not so much! ;D

Make IP addresses public Definitely, this is the least that can be done... Can you ban IP addresses rather than usernames as well that would save time...
