just because you're very talented doesn't mean you're automatically a great. He's hyped up by the idiots at Sky to a degree where great players are ignored. Ok 42 goals, great achievement, but really he's a forward, not a midfielder, and Van the Man bettered that a few seasons ago.
Its the self indulgence and petulance that really irks me.
Maybe its all about personal preference, but for me Messi in particular just creates outrageous moments of genius that are untouchable. If you were to watch La Liga on Sky every week you'd be amazed

Ronaldo's transcended being described merely as 'very talented'. He's a devastating footballer, and you'd be hard pressed to find an honest United fan who wouldn't consider him one of, if not the most gifted player ever to pull on the shirt. Just ask Sir Bobby Charlton. If, eventually, he's called one of the all-time greats, it'll be because he's earnt the right to be described as such.
And, with all honesty, I'm perplexed at the way you're undermining his accomplishments. He's 23, for fucks sake, and he's two months from being (rightfully) named the best player in the world. He scored 42 fucking goals last season. From the wing. Van Nistelrooy, on the other hand, spent his United career camped in the 18 yard box. Ronaldo's is a far greater achievement.
Oh, and I'm well aware of Messi's brilliance. He's a fantastic player, and I'd love him at United. But are you really suggesting that Ronaldo's not capable of equivalent genius? Do I really need to start listing examples?
This whole thing just smacks of personal discrimination. You're not the only culprit, by any means, but I'm starting to get really fucked off by so-called football fans, who refuse to give Ronaldo the credit he very much deserves just because they think he's 'a bit of a c*nt'.

Note to Newcastle Jets coach: Adrian Trinidad fell because of one of YOUR players. Trindiad was honest, you weren't. (At least he's not like Man Utd fans who say Rooney doesn't dive)

At least he's not like Man Utd fans who say Rooney doesn't dive. But Rooney doesn't dive, really. Ronaldo would have been a (slightly) better example. Or Nani. Or Steven Gerrard. We all know he's a diving c*nt.

Replace the entire Arsenal team with Melbourne Victory and you've got a team! (Though they do have a problem with Archie).
P.s: The AFC are idiots, we're HELPING New Zealand

But I could find lots of Ronaldo and Nani. I'm sure you could. But pointing the finger of blame at those two won't make Steven Gerrard any less of a diving c*nt. Correction: hypocritical diving c*nt.

Meh....he's still a better footballer than most in the world. And really, does he dive as much as Ronaldo? Don't think so.

Ok, so I don't really have stats to back it up, but he doesn't roll around on the pitch like he's shot like others do.

I love your blinding loyalty, but the consensus would be Ronaldo. Sod the consensus. The consensus would probably tell you that Cesc Fabregas is the best passer in English football. I'm only interested in pure factoids!* ;D *this is a lie

Good result today. On the balance of play, it should have been more. City offered very little, and their one real chance came as a result of Edwin Van Der Sar's mistake in the first half. Fans were fucking shite an'all. Barely a peep out of them all game, even when they were chasing the game against ten men with twenty minutes to go.
Oh, and Ronaldo's sending off was a fucking joke, really. Not so much because of the second yellow card - as harsh, on reflection*, as that was - but more the first. Since when does a perfectly legitimate tackle warrant a yellow card?
*Watch the clip again. There's a very audible 'beep' just as the airhorn cuts out, to which I think Ronaldo was referring. And there can certainly be no suggestion that he was attempting to gain an advantage by using his hands.

^It was a handball according to the local radio here Yes, it was. But it's the extent to which the handball was punished that makes it harsh, given the context of the 'offence'.

Can't remember the incident, but there was a handball in the scouse v west ham match last night (think it was Bellamy running down the wing), ref gave the free kick but there was no yellow card shown... Think consistency is the problem like everything is when it come to referees'.
BTW agree with Supersonic with everything you've said about Ronaldo. And Gerard is every bit as bad a diver as anyone in the EPL.

It was amazing : Lisandro Lopez is the MAN.
I've got a good hope this year with that man in my team.
