Hey guys. I read a swedish review in a small fanzine of DOYS and I thought I was going to translate it for you guys. It´s pretty exciting. I´m not 100 % sure that it is real, but anyway:
Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul - 5/5
For almost an entire decade Noel Gallagher and his bandmates have been trying to come up with something as good and meaningful as the astonishing debutalbum "Definitely Maybe" and the worldwide brake-through "Morning Glory". The last album, "Don´t Believe The Truth" had it´s highlights but was still far away from classics like "Rock N Roll Star", "Live Forever" and "Wonderwall". So the question is of course with there new long awaited 7th studioalbum about to be released, did they make it this time?
In my opinion, the answer is YES. Oasis are back in form, a form they haven´t reached since the underrated "Be Here Now" from 1997.
The first single "The Shock Of The Lightning" is an instant Oasis classic, and Liam sings better then he has done for a very long time. It reminds you of the Morning Glory single "Some Might Say", although a little less poppy. The chorus is amazingly powerful and strong in similarity to 94 classic "Slide Away". It is a total smash.
Other highlights one the album is the hard Rolling Stones sounding opening track "Bag It Up", the beautiful second single "Falling Down" and the epic "Soldier On".
My personal favourite is however "Waiting For The Rapture", where Noel Gallagher really shows that he is one of the greatest songwriters of our time. Liam sings like he was the king of the universe.
Except for the weak and almost heavy metal rockin Liam penned "Ain´t Got Nothin´" every track on Dig Out Your Soul is filled with melody and inspiration. It is however obvious that Noel Gallagher is the genius in this band, and all though the rest of the members are skilled songwriters they just never reach the same heights as Noel does. The eight tracks that he contributes are all of worldclass standard with potential of becoming classics.
So will this album make Oasis the biggest band in the world again? Well, that remains to be said, but one thing is for certain. When Oasis are this good, there is not a lot of bands out there who can beat them. Probably none.
Not sure if this is real, but it sounds good however.

Source site? And EIGHT songs by Noel? There's a chance it could be a translation/language mistake

Source site? And EIGHT songs by Noel? I kind of doubt it's fake, who would fake a review? there's a lot of people with no life who would edit: I hope it's real though

I almost think that it is fake aswell. The fanzine is very small, not on the web, they give it away for free in some recordshops in Stockholm. It is called "Busstop", after the Hollies song I guess. It´s like 10 pages, mainly 60´s retro stuff. Only reviews. I was quite shocked to find this review in there. You should really doubt that this person heard the album, I think.

Sounds fake to me, they're just restating what's already been speculated like that Soldier On is epic, TSOTL is classic, and that Ain't Got Nothin' is the weakest track on the album

Yeah, I am skeptical just because this piece did not contain anything that we didn't already know. On another thread someone with no confirmed credability hypothesized that "Falling Down" was second single material.
That being said, if this is a true review then this is excellent news!

Great review- certainly what we all want to hear. Likely got their exclusive news from live4ever though...

Whether its true or not it only adds to the anticipation and hype of this album!
Personally I think the last two albums have been an improvment on its predecessor and I hope the trend continues with this album.
I find it so frustrating that each review falls into the same trap of comparing their latest album to the first two. They also seem to follow a general theme of 'Oasis lost their touch but now they are back!' It seemed to be the case with each of the last three albums and will probably be same for Dig Out Your Soul.

It's clearly fake. Shame the idiot who faked it can't even get the facts straight - 8 Noel songs? LMFAO
1.) TSOTL: We already know that this is the most typical sounding Oasis on the record
2.) Bag It up, Soldier On, Falling Down: All 3 songs were mentioned by Noel
3.) Waiting for the Rapture: Faker put this in there to make him/her sound legit. Result? EPIC FAIL
4.) Ain't Got Nothin: It's the forums, and most Oasis' fans are disappointed with it so the "article" took that into consideration too
5.) BHN: Only fans, NOT CRITICS see BHN as under rated.....
Some one has too much time on their hands. FAKE.

Well I'm not so sure about critics opinions to Be Here Now, it seems that they gushed about in the wake of Morning Glory (which they gave bad reviews to and so 'missed the boat' so to speak) and yet after SOTSOG, BHN became the scapegoat for when Oasis turned 'bad'. Anyway I think some critics are slowly coming round to it again. I remeber a few years back Q ran 50 worst albums of all time or something and they said that BHN had actually aged rather well...so maybe they'll realise its underrated again?

Some one has too much time on their hands. oh, the irony!! Anyway it's obviously fake. Everything the 'reviewer' says is already known to any Oasis fan, except the 8 Noel songs which is probably a mistake

Nah I reckon its a load of balls. Its too vague, I could write that and I've not listened to the record. Its just picking up on what people already know about the album and sticking it into a paragraph
