I was let down All it confirmed was "Ain't Got Nothin'" is in fact the demo that leaked (although who knows what it's gone through since then, of course). From SCYHO.com: NME gets the first look at artwork and tracklisting. Oasis have revealed the tracklisting and artwork for their new album exclusively to NME. 'Dig Out Your Soul' will be released on October 6 and will feature 11 songs. The album was produced by Dave Sardy, who also worked on their last album 'Don't Believe The Truth', and will feature 11 songs. 'Dig Out Your Soul' will open with 'Bag It Up' which Noel Gallagher recently revealed was almost the title track until his girlfriend pointed out Geri Halliwell has a song of the same name. We're assured it's not a cover. Other songs set to feature include comeback single 'The Shock Of The Lightning' (out September 29), 'The Nature Of Reality', the intriguingly titled , (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady' and 'Ain't Got Nothin'. An early demo version of the latter leaked in May, though none of the songs which appeared in that batch have made the final album. Oasis have given the NME the artwork for their seventh album, which was created by London-based designer Julian House - who also designed the award-winning sleeve for Primal Scream's 'XTRMNTR' - after he heard the music. A collage featuring clocks, a mushroom cloud, apples and solders, it implies Noel Gallagher has fulfilled the mission statement he set out for 'Dig Out Your Soul'. "I really fancy doing a record where we just completely throw the kitchen sink at it," Noel told NME in 2007 as plans for the album were hatched. "We haven't done that since 'Be Here Now'... get a 100-piece orchestra and choirs and all that. I think since 'Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants' we've been trying to prove a point of just bass, drums, guitar and vocals and nothing fancy. But I kind of fancy making an absolutely f**king colossal album. Anyone else think the NME will hype it and hype it and hype it and then give it a 5/10? Yet still call it "album of the year"?

No proof that the NME have heard anything, in fact since they keep reprinting the same old shit i would guess they haven't. If they had heard it would probably be on the cover for the next 4 weeks.

Nah, they could've even heard it months ago. They only give away small bits of news at a time, building up anticipation. You don't review an album this far in advance, what else can they say? The only reason it looks like these people are reprinting stuff is cos a lot of information comes from leaked reports in these magazines that end up on live4ever before they have a chance to be printed!

Yeah i suppose you're right, a lot of stories do get here before the mags. The NME is not the power they once were though they're a failing magazine they dont have the same pull that they used to.

I started to lose respect for them a couple of years ago when i bought soem copy that had the horrors on the cover! Who the hell are the horrors? This was followed by about a hundred in a row all with arctic monkeys on the cover with stupid phrases like "The arctic monkeys like to drink tea; exclusive". Not that i don't like the arctic monkeys, but I don't think anyone likes them that much...

It was bloody boring, i doubt they'll be about in 10 years(the NME i mean).

Is it true most Oasis fans despise the NME because of the Blur thing?

But Nothing on Me is on there? Way to contradict yourself in the space of two sentences. hilarious. Still a bit pissed that made it on...even reworked. Surely they had to have another tune between the four of them more promising than that circular mess?

NME slags off every Oasis record but then kisses their arse in interviews and constantly gets them on the cover to sell more copies. They talk absolute shite. They gave Razorlight's album an 8/10 then voted it the 'Worst album of the year' at the NME awards. WTF?

Nah, we know this is bullshit, b/c they still go out and say that bag it up was going to be the title track, after noel has clearly said this was all bs. The nme is just guessing, they don't know shit.

It's clear that they don't have the album, and have not even listened to it. They get the bulk of their news exclusives from live4ever...

They did likewise with The Twang, saying how amazing the demos and singles were, then said the album was crap. NME are not consistent.

I'm STILL praying that Ain't Got Nothin' is a different song. FOR FUCKING FUCKS SAKES IT'S THE SAME FUCKED UP FUCKING SONG. FUCKING HELL The demo version was written by Liam when he was in jail. The album track is written by Liam too. It would be too much of a coincidence. It's about 1min longer than the demo, signaling they reworked it at least a bit. The demo version was just that - a demo. And because of that, it was messy, but you could hear the potential it had when its cleaned up. Now, with that said, I don't think it's going to be amazing, probably a 7/10 on the album, but not as bad as you're all trying to make it. If it's the worst song on the album, we're in fine shape....

Thankyou. I feel the same exact way. It's obvious that it's the same song. I guess people are just in denial because they really don't want it on the album. And although I don't care for the song all that much, it's still better than MOS (which was by far the worst song on DBTT, I don't care what anyone says). Noel, Gem, and Andy are the ones who take Liam's songs and take them to the next level. Let's just see what they do with it.
