Well this thread could be looked at as useless right now since we haven't heard any of the songs. But I want to predict what songs I think will be the singles. Here's my take.
Unlikely to be a single:
Bag It Up: Usually if the opening song is a single, it is the first one.
The Turning: This could be great, but I just don't see Bell getting a single.
Get Of Your High Horse Lady: Can't see Gem having a single or a song being described as the album's She's Electric or Digsy's Dinner as a single.
Ain't Got Nothing: Well if it is the song we think it is, it won't be a single and Liam has two better potentials on this album.
Possibly a single:
Waiting For The Rapture: This is song number 3, one Noel values on every album and says is important. Noel will have a sung single. So maybe.
To Be Where There Is Life: All I can say is maybe.
The Nature of Reality: A Noel sung song, maybe.
Likely a single:
Falling Down: Have heard rumours it will be the 2nd single and this sounds like it could be great.
I'm Outta Time: I think of Songbird part 2 and a late single.
Soldier On: One of this or I'm Outta time will be a single. This one sounds so epic, I think of a mix of Champagne Supernova and Gas Panic! I have a feeling this one will make us forget/stop whining about the exclusion of Record Machine (please don't reply with, no, it can't cause its a Liam song).
Once again this is just all my speculation, I have no idea. But I think we will end up with 3 more singles after The Shock Of The Lightning.

The first three singles would have to do exceptionally well commercially for there to be a fourth single. Hopeful but doubtful.

1 by Liam and 2 by Noel. Not sure other than Shock of the Lightning though. Would love to see how it does what with there being "No hit singles" on it.

D'you Know What I Mean - No.1 Stand By Me - No.2 All Around The World - No.1 NO FOURTH SINGLE Lyla - No.1 The Importance Of Being Idle - No.1 Let There Be Love - No.2 NO FOURTH SINGLE

I doubt there will be more than 3 singles, considering that Noel mentioned that there were "no hit singles on the record"
That doesn't mean that the songs will suck, but I think the emphasis is on the actual "album" for DOYS, as opposed to making an album w/ a few great singles, some other pretty solid tracks, and some filler. Plus, the "groove" sound that Noel has mentioned in multiple interviews doesn't really sound super-commercial, which is fine by me.
They'll prolly release 3 singles, w/ 2 Bsides on each of em. Maybe they'll mix it up however by releasing 2 tracks as worldwide singles, and then 2 tracks simultaneously as singles, w/ one of em being released in England/rest of Europe and the other being released as a single in the US/Canada/Australia.
Fact is however, to do well sale-wise in America, the album needs at least one hit single. Regardless of how good the album is reviewed by the critics, most young people here in America won't buy an album just because it got good reviews. Hopefully Oasis will have a nice rocking hit single that will make Americans realize that Oasis is more than just "the band that made Wonderwall".

Don't Go Away was only released as a single in Japan, according to my semi-reliable sources at wikipedia I'm surprised by that though, although it's the lyrics of the chorus are a little simplistic, I think Don't Go Away would have been an obvious choice for a worldwide single. I think it's got the best production on Be Here Now (and possibly on any Oasis album ever), and it's prolly the only track on Be Here Now that has a perfect length. I always did think it sounded a lot like "Stand By Me" however...

I,m outta time is very likely Boys With The Blues and is the same as that short clip that is on youtube.
BWTB(demo) is told to be catchy as hell and driven by piano and acoustic guitars which sounds axactly like the clip. Liam isnt Noel and cant afford to drop such songs so it obviously will be in. They probably changed name cause Boys With The Blues started to feel old and 'Im outta time' sounds more fresh.

But BWTB has also been described as a gnarled rock song so I don't think we can really pin that clip down as being that song IMO.

What's your point?
