I. For the more mature Oasis recording an album just becomes more of a challenge , says Noel.
Shock of Lighting sounds instant and compelling because it was written dead fast, sort of like a demo.
The first time you record something is always the best, he explains.
II. Shock of Lightning is an instant FM hit with the unmistakable head turning Oasis RnR power behind it
III. DOUS is loaded with monotonous, hypnotic , driving tunes , a big progression from Don't believe the Truth.
The lyrics deliver a bleak reality check of today's world with all kinds of biblical references embedded.
IV. Gem Archer's song "To be where there's life" is just one of the gems on this high quality album.
V.The albums closer "Soldier On" is a hauntingly beautiful song reflecting ones voyage through life ....
There's no need to write ,like, Orthodox pop songs anymore (Noel G). Oasis are back and have raised the bar again!

Does Noel walks on the water? Can he split the red sea?
I love what I've just read... even if it's only propaganda..

If "To be where there's life" is Gem's song...so is (Get off your) High horse a Noel's song?!

If "To be where there's life" is Gem's song...so is (Get off your) High horse a Noel's song?! I guess no one was expecting that.... maybe GOYHHL is Andy's, maybe it's Noel's.... But great description, made me want to listen even more this album.... thanks for the info without ridllers, ridller!!

By the way, is this supposed to be original thoughts from the Riddler or summaries of news blurbs. The first point about Shock of Lightning is copied from recent news reports and Noel comments on Inet. Where are the rest of the comments coming from?
Thanks Riddler!

Can't say i'm feeling the 'monotonous' description, but oh well, even if it is propaganda as one poster said, at least its better than rating all the albums.
And honestly, what the hell difference does the time it took to write a song make? I can write a song right now in ten seconds, but that doesn't mean its going to be awesome because it sounds 'raw and like a demo'

Yeah, I hope we're talking Columbia "monotonous", not Put Yer Money Where Your Mouth Is "monotonous"....

The build up to this album is becoming legendary, the riddler has proved his worth in the past & he'll add more exciting build up as the weeks pass, the album artwork has built it up even more for me as that for me is a great album cover & i get a good vibe from it without sounding like an idiot, just get the feeling that it'll be experimental, phsychadelic & fucking loud, cant wait for the first listen of "Shock of the lightning"
Bring it on! (Down)

yeah i'm a lil confused on the titles. but i wouldn't be surprised if High Horse was a noel tune...the title and use of parenthesis is pretty noel-ish. and i heard it's huge.

I had thought Noel said he didn't think of the album title, which is a lyric from Get Off Your High Horse. I also thought he said Gem wrote that song. Lots of bad info going around who knows.

He said he got it from a Gem song. Some other source said that Get Off... was a Gem song.
Dig out your soul sounds like it fits better with "To Be Where There's Life" instead of GOYHHL. Although some review said Gem's song is very heavy and "To Be Where There's Life" doesn't sound too heavy.
I'm thinking too much.

Does anybody else think this means there's a chance for 7 noel tracks?! Liam would have soilder on and all out of time, and we know gem and andy have one each. But i'm thinking since riddler claims goyhh to be a noel tune, maybe gem would take 'ain't got nothin'. Hope so, anyway!

IV. Gem Archer's song "To be where there's life" is just one of the gems on this high quality album. To me that says Gem wrote multiple tunes for the album so maybe he wrote High Horse too.

Has it ever been confirmed that Liam actually wrote the leaked demo They Got Nothing on Me, They Got Nothing on You?
Its seems most are speculating he did given the "simplicity" of the song, but it may have been written by Gem (or someone else).
