Is that, as a member alluded to in another thread, we don't know what parts the chemical brothers added.
Some are def obvious (all that electronic sound lol)
But is the great drumming still there? Is the piano in the background? Is the piano segment still there at then end (which is AMAZING)? Does Noel still have the backing vocals on the album? And is the electronic sound replaced by a huge guitar sound?
My feeling to all those questions is YES! Why would you create a massive sound mix track for a mellow sounding song? It makes more sense to have a massive remix for a massive sound, no? (I actually don't know, i'm trying to BS an answer i like lol)
But the danger, and the thing I fear the most, is that since I love this version (cept the electronic part near the end - OW MY HEAD) that the album version will only dissapoint --- but that'll only be the case if the above is not true (as long as it remains a big sound, I'll be very happy)
Anyone have the same fear - that after hearing this version the album one *might* disappoint? Any other fears?

(I actually don't know, i'm trying to BS an answer i like lol) I'm with you on everything except maybe the massive remix for massive sounding original. Maybe that's where you'd look for a stark contrast? It's probably more of a license for The Chemical Brothers to be creative to do a complete 180 on a song. I think the tone of the vocals show it as being a Shout It Out Loud type song.

I would think a completely different sound, tbh I really hope the post made in the newsroom is true- that only the vocal and piano bits are kept, b/c i love those Just cant really get into the dance beat Also, don't like the drum machine (it is a drum machine, isn't it?).

noel knows that most of us hate the electronic shit so he probably thinks our expections will be low after hearing it and then BAM the album version will hit us like a ton of bricks.

Don't agree, I like the dance-element; and I fucking HATE dance music. Is just very cool to hear a different type of thing from Oasis. To be honest the album will probably go all the other way and yeah, maybe seem a bit of a letdown in the trying-new-things area. I really hope not though, this track has gotten me excited to see what kind of things they could do if they put their (or some innovative producer's) mind to it.

A guy in the newsroom who sounds like he really has heard the album, said that there is a 'dramatic' difference between the two versions. He went on to say that the only thing that was really kept was the vocals and even those were 'cut up alot'. But he says it has nice drumming . . .

Going by the vocals, i would say it's definitely something new, even if the music were to be nothing out of the ordinary (which i doubt). He sounds amazing, especially the 'we live a dying dreeeeeeeeeeam!'

One of the big reasons I got into Oasis was Noel singing on Setting Sun and one of the big reasons I got into Chemical Brothers was the involvement of Oasis, so to me, the two elements and strengths aren't mutually exclusive. I like having the two get on together.

Second that. The Chemical Brothers have a knack for this kind of thing.

What I fear the most is that the album won't be as ambitious or as ballsy as the leaked song. It's been praying on my tiny mind. Fear not little one for I too know how it feels to be cold and lonely...

This album will rock and stop worrying. The piano to this was (of course) gorgeous. Lyrics weren't bad either. Noel is not f'n around with the release of DOYS. It will be solid......

I hope they have that killer bassline on the album version but it seems like they may have re-recorded the entire track I also wonder if we have heard the entire lyrics yet.
