A few people on here are trying to hold out and not listen to any new material until the album comes out. I see why they do that - builds anticipation even more, and having the full album on release day is a true experiences. I'm not one of those people though. I'm to eager too hear the new material to wait that long. However, the biggest downside to waiting is that you don't get to join in in the excitement in the forum and with fellow Oasis fans. That to me is the biggest part of my decision not to wait. Discussing and reviewing the songs on the album is a great deal of fun.

couldn't disagree with you more mate...
it is really exciting to read all the 'reviews' , 'this song sounds like this and that' ,, 'i like it' , 'i don't' ,,, then drive down to the shop at opening time the day of the release, sifting through the liner notes and artwork as you sit in seculsion with headphones on and hear all of the tracks in perfect cd quality for the very first time
from what i hear of falling down, its going to be great!
and that is just a chemical brothers remix!
as i said before, in case of slightly different mixes (as was the case with the hc leaks) i will download all leaked material that i can, but will NOT listen to a single note until the proper cd is in my hands ...
still haven't decided if i will or won't take a gander at lyrics posted... even though i already saw the lyrics to falling down... what do you think?

Thats exactly the reason I think waiting is not worth it, especially when the chance of a high quality leak these days is more likely than a poor one. Its one thing if you cut yourself off from all of the talk and banter about the material, but its another entirely when you torture yourself by reading reactions and the only thing that is stopping you from experiencing that is waiting for some supposed "moment" that comes on release day. I get that same "fix" listening to a leak and reading other peoples immediate impressions even moreso. If the music is shit the day it leaks, its going to be shit on release day, vice versa if its great. I hate the excuse people make by saying, "I listened to the leak, and it ruined the album for me." To me, that is just digging for an excuse to blame sub-par music on.
Its your prerogative to do what you want, waiting wise. I prefer not to, as its just as exciting listening to it as soon as possible.

In essence, it is only a couple of months. It's worth the wait.
DBTT was the only one that I somewhat listened to. I heard a few tracks (not all of them). And I heard clips of the whole album and it totally ruined it for me.
I'm waiting . . .

The other thing is that if you're someone who would buy the album online (iTunes) then downloading it through them or via a leak really makes no difference (PROVIDING YOU DO ACTUALLY PAY FOR A COPY WHEN IT'S OFFICIALLY RELEASED, as most of us here would of course). The days of people lining around the block for albums at a midnight release are gone. That was a Be Here Now thing.

This is the first time i'll be a fan for a release, so i'm going to be sure to wait for release day. I suppose if the whole album leaked (not just bits and pieces) it wouldn't be a much different experience, but i cant wait to go down on release day and get the new album.

See, the way I see things, is that, if a song gets played on the radio, it's usually sanctioned by Oasis, and that make it okay in my book to listen to the new track. And believe you me, I don't regret one bit about it, cuz it's a fantastic track. I've waited listening to Stop The Clocks and Record Machine since the leaks just in case they were on the new album. I'm going to listen to them for the first time today. Didn't listen to Nothin' On Me neither, and this one I'll wait to listen on in case it's the same song on Dig Out Your Soul.

I hate how you analyze everything You wouldn't like it if I posted more often, LOL. For me music has so much to do with the moments I associate it with, especially my first time hearing it. It's a childlike experience, so I want to get as much surprise and wonder out of that first encounter as I possibly can, i.e. hearing the whole album for the first time all at once. Case in point: the first time I seriously got hooked on music was when I visited California and went to hear some band I'd never heard of called Pink Floyd, from their album Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety at a Laser Floyd show. How cool was that? Ever since then, when I've gotten a new album, I always wait until it gets dark, unhook the phone, remove any possible distractions, wait to be completely relaxed, and only then is it time to hear one note of the album. Then I just lay back and let all the unfamiliar sounds suck me in. I did that with every one of the Beatles albums, Pet Sounds, etc. and it was brilliant. It doesn't always give me the rush of that Laser Floyd show, but I couldn't imagine, say, just listening to a bit of Sgt Pepper in my car for the first time on the way to the gas station for dip like I saw my friend do.

And believe you me, I don't regret one bit about it, cuz it's a fantastic track. I have to admit that's been bugging me. If the band, barring requirements from their label, actually intends for you to hear something ahead of time, maybe the early exposure is better. Maybe this Chems remix is meant to be a teaser for the actual cut and I should hear it now to really get the song. Hard to tell.
