The new album art should be predominantly black but with sweeps of colour running through it. Almost like an oily puddle. If it doesn't I'm not buying it.

It might be a guy named Pete who did the artwork, or its someone who isn't named Pete is one way you could interpret it
OR
You could see it as its someone named Pete who did the artwork, but we just don't know what one
I say we look up the most expensive graphic designer in England, and we have our answer

It probably is Pete McKee... per wikipedia: "In 2007 McKee was commissioned by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher to paint him as part of Gibson Guitar’s “Guitar Town” show. McKee painted a portrait of the guitarist onto a 10 foot fibreglass guitar which was displayed as part of the open air exhibition on London’s South Bank."
So obviously there's a big connection.

Pete McKee Does all cartoony stuff though doesnt he? Its good and he definately has a musical influence but i cant see his cartoon style art going together with an oasis album cover? or am i wrong and does he also do other styles?

I remember when the guitar first came out, I shot him a message on myspace about working on it, and he responded. He was talking about how him, and Noel exchanged numbers, and that Noel wanted to work with him in the future. Maybe he is doing the album artwork.

Pete McKee artwork would be spot on! But his images are quite jolly and kind of cheesy, but brilliant. So it wouldn't really suit the album's vibe. Not that I've heard it yet!

I run SCYHO and I spoke to Pete via email last night, he told me yesterday that he's not doing the artwork "I realise people have been wondering if i'm doing the lp artwork. well i can tell you that i'm sadly not. noel want's to use my work at some point in the future but they have someone else in mind for the Lp."Riddler is it Pete Manley at GUHD.COM who worked with Tony Moloney & Dave Dragon on the LDSMD artwork? ahh! i thought the LDSMD artwork was great! it'd be awesome if it was similar... |
