I think songs like morning glory, my big mouth, and i hope i think i know show why Whitey was the best. TBH, i can't really tell much difference b/w Zak and McCarroll, but i'm not an expert. They say Zak sounds great on the new album though!

Idk that Allan was more talented than Zak, but his style just fit this band like a glove. I don't think that's deniable. Zak on the other hand definitely gave the band a much different feel on DBTT

Zak is possibly as overrated as DBTT was... crap, boring, simple drum beats no matter how technically talented he is at playing other people's songs.

Zak is the most skilled drummer. With out a doubt one of the best rock drummers from the last 25 years, but Alan's style fit better with the band. His jazzy fills and snare ends on the "ands" of 2 and 4 just sounded perfect with Noel's songs. He also was much more than just a drummer he gave idea's to Noel on how some songs rhythm should be and I believe he help somewhat in the production process.

Zak was indeed the best drummer, but Tony McCarrol was right for the sound. I can't imagine Zak on Bring it on Down.
I've not heard Chris as yet, and I don't think I will till I see him live so can't comment yet.
Alan was fantastic though. Very hard choice.

Not only is Alan the best drummer of them all, he is also the best drummer for Oasis. Maybe not for Def Maybe, our Tony's lack of drumming skill was beyond perfect for them songs, unique, insurmountable (big word i just learned from babel fish).

I know two thirds of f all about drumming, but I know what sounds good, and my favourite sound on an album is DM, so have gone for Tony Mc.

Did Tony make up the intro beats for liveforever and supersonic or was he playing what noel told him

it was probably noel who told him what and how to play it. Sometimes he couldnt do it (bring it on down) but in the end the kid nailed it

Alan White. Not the best drummer in the world, but the best drummer for Oasis.

can't imagine Zak on Bring it on Down. listen to one of the concerts from '05. he brought power to it that no previous oasis drummer could.

Zak is right for Oasis. Great drumm solos, makes their music sound fresh. Not like the "old Oasis" Alan sound.
