I long for the day that Noel comes up with an original, fresh and smart lyric. Even on this Radiohead-wanna-be-but-failing-hopelessly Falling Down mix/remix he manages to come up with some of music world's most used lyrics like 'kiss the world goodbye' of 'leave the word behind' and mega Oasis clichés like 'blows my mind' and 'do you know what i mean'. Especially that last lyrics on that specific moment in the song is so dumb. There could be a thousands lyrics you could come up with that would have sounded great there but he comes up with 'do you know what i mean'. Yeah Noel, we do...
Anyway, nice melody in the track. But just because it has got weird fuzzes and noises and drums and some quick (btw also Oasis-cliché) bass-lines doesn't make this a brilliant track. It's just a remix with some irritating noise and one (one! all there is..) good melody.

Wait that " The Hero Still Unsung " proves you that those are brillant lyrics, better than anything made by Coldplay blah blah blah...
But that kid can also proves your that 1+1 makes 3 ...
But don't pay attention to him, his blind, fan attitude, is a pretty good laugh..

...because noel's lyrics are usually so amazing arent they? I think he's very able to write fantastic lyrics... The Masterplan, Live Forever, Cast No Shadow, D'You Know What I Mean and a dozen more have brillant and solid lyrics....

But don't pay attention to him, his blind, fan attitude, is a pretty good laugh.. Of course the lyrics arent Noel's best. The best from DBTT was "Every beginning has broken its promise" from POTQ - now that's genius. These lyrics are average However the tune itself is better than what Coldplay released last month - a.) Melody is better than anything on VLV, b.) No crap tacked on the end c.) Not generic d.) Impressive, awe-inspiring sound It's the sound I'm impressed with. Yeah, it's a remix (most likely) but I'm sure the album version has a big sound to it too....and that's something Oasis has lacked since BHN, that big sound makes Oasis what they are. It's good that element is back. To be honest I can't even listen to that Coldplay album anymore, it's so bad. I've already listened to Falling Down 17 times, it just sounds good - as long as the sound is good, the lyrics are less essential. (Case and point: DLBIA - ok some cliches, not as cliched as Falling Down, but pretty nonsensical lyrics, but still genius at the same time....) And this is miles ahead of Coldplays 42 lyrics "those that are dead are not dead they're just living in my head"? FUCK OFF Ideally you want both good sound and good lyrics, but those are rare (POTQ, Live Forever, Slide Away, etc)

The best from DBTT was "Every beginning has broken its promise" from POTQ - now that's genius. Try Mucky Fingers, pal. However the tune itself is better than what Coldplay released last month - a.) Melody is better than anything on VLV, b.) No crap tacked on the end c.) Not generic d.) Impressive, awe-inspiring sound a) No, it's not. b) Piss-poor reason to dislike a song. You're clutching at straws. c) And how exactly does one define 'generic'? d) It's a fucking remix. That's the sound of the Chemical Brothers. Not Oasis. Biased, un-informed, non-sensical, opinionated BULLSHIT. Your posts are so frustrating that it makes me want to kick my own head in.

I quite like "those that are dead are not dead they're just living in my head". I think it's a beautiful line .. It says it all.. Like the " the movement you need is on your shoulders " in " HEY JUDE "

Lyrics to Let There Be Love are genius. Very true. However, Noel fucked up the sound, imo. The whole band wanted it to have a big sound, but Noel decided against it. One of Noel's few mistakes. I hardly ever listen to LTBL...*Checks itunes*.....it's my second least played song on DBTT (A Bell Will Ring: 22, LTBL: 23, MF: 25......Most: LLAB: 62, Lyla: 45TIOBI: 42) That says it all really. And the outro is horrible. It's so unnecessary. This song had so much potential, the lyrics are good, the melody is good, and Noel's part is INSANELY good, but it's lacking that epic sound, it's lacking another part from Noel, and it's lacking a good outro). Falling Down has already eclipsed alot of the tunes on DBTT (and i love that album), with 35 plays already. Partly is because it's new, of course, but I really do love it.

I know what you mean but I think it's an amazing song. My favourite Oasis song is Let There Be Love. But it could really do with that mentioned epic sound. Needs a thousand strings on it too, like Bat out of Hell!

I reckon Noel was spot on in wanting to leave it off the album in the first place. If he bows to pressure on Stop The Clocks in the same manner, we'll probably see a similar result.

STC > LTBL imo However, you're right Supersonic! (I cant believe it). STC has the potential to be weak like LTBL. HOWEVER, I feel that if Noel puts it on an album, it'll be a proper epic version - he holds it in too highly to risk it being downplayed like LTBL.

I think in this case the level of expectation far outweighs the probable quality of the end product.
It'd take a revamp of Champagne Supernova-esque quality and proportion for it to be regarded as anything other than a disappointment, and I'm not sure the version we've heard is a good enough foundation for something of that measure.
