Is there any confirmation of who penned the song played today?

I think they want to put their best foot forward, and Noel's their best foot.

I hope so too, though I sort of doubt it.

I bet it's not Noel written. Last album they played a Liam tune- "Meaning of Soul" and a Gem tune- "A Bell Will Ring" live way before they released Don't Believe the Truth. I believe they did this to "feel" out the audience. In any case, I remember reading somewhere that Noel mentioned he was not interested in playing his songs as a "test" because he did not want them to get slagged before they had finished the album. I suppose we will find out soon enough.

This was also a couple of years ago with different circumstances at play. With this in mind it could very well be a Noel-penned tune. We shall see.

It's Noel sung, so it's his song.
