Just so everyone's aware, I guess the tune is going to be spun TWICE tonight, once at 5 and again at 6 PM EST on toronto's 102.1 the Edge.
Will it be the Chemical Bros Remix twice, the LP cut twice, or one of each once?
Guess we'll see. I for one just want to hear the album take, I don't want to get used to a version that's not on the record. Besides, I think about 95% of every "re-mix" ever done is an injustice to the original.

when did this remix shit come into play? this is the first i am hearing of it? I don't know either, I heard nothin of it until I logged in an hour ago (7:30 AM CST). Got me a little twisted too. Not sure if I've ever heard of a remix debuting before the actual song. crazy shit. There has to be a plan to all of this if somehow the chemical bros got involved and remixed the song before it was even released. What if we end up finding out they "mixed it" for the album straight up?

This is disappointing if its not actually the album track. In Bookie's emails he seemed to indicate it was "an album track, not the new single" but with the new info today backing up the info of a remix promo coming out, I'm afraid this is just going to be a spin of that promo and it'll be the remix, and not actually the song on the album. Maybe someone can email Bookie again or call in during the show to clear up this confusion?

The chemical brothers remixed some tracks off of DOYS, and some people think that those songs are the Promo CD?

I don't think it's going to be the remix. If he said album track, i'm sure he means it. We would have heard them mention if it was a remix before now i think.

dount it'll be a remix. this is being used as a taster for the new sound on the record, so cant see a remix being played.

I'll reiterate: The chem bros. remix of Falling Down has essentially been confirmed as being out there, and I'll bet dollars to donuts that this is the new promo item that Anders (Mistersifter from oasis-collectors) gave us info on earlier in the week when he mentioned it'd be a remix. Also someone last night distinctly mentioned club-pop I believe...
These promos get sent out to DJs, and Bookie may know that they have the new promo, and not have realized its a remix and not whats actually on the album. He already said he hasn't heard/doesn't have the new album, he's just working with what the label sends the station, and I'd bet we're talking about the same promo disc.

who can record this, lets get ourducks in a row for this one.
I can't, as I lack the tech know-how to pull it off.
Can't the audio just be ripped into a mp4 file right off the i-net?

The fact that he's NOT mentioning that it ISN'T the remix scares me a bit more. The dilemma is: how would he even know it was the remix if he didn't know a remix existed to begin with? A very salient point. honestly, I think you're prolly correct and now I'm leaning towards this gay-ass remix. shit.

worst thing is: if the chemical bros get ahold of the fucking thing you can be almost assured that it'll sound NOTHING like the lp version.
So if the point is to give people a "feel" for the albums sound, that notion will be shot to hell in the first 5 seconds of this undoubted "shitmix".

Hopefully it doesn't have a ridiculous amount of repeats, isn't sung by noel and doesn't have a garageband drum loop on it.
