Does any of you Oasis boffins reckon that they really will chuck the kitchen sink as it as he put? I'd love to hear another huge orchestra record as I love Be Here Now. But from what I've read, I've gained the impression that it's gonna be everything turned up to 11 and going a bit mad. Like the Stone Rose's Second Coming where they just tried to sound like Zeppelin.
From the "groove" reference I think that's more "this isn't your usual verse, bridge and chorus" structure. So I can't see how strings could fit. Then again, there's classic's like A Day in the Life.
We'll see. Yeah this threads probably been covered in others but I couldn't find a dedicated thread. Here you go.

My sources say no, that's according to the magic 8 ball. What the f*ck does that know...
I've no Idea, and to be honest, Noel says at lot of things before the release of an album and sometimes what he says doesn't come accross in the album, if you get what I mean. We'll just have to wait and see.
I for one, would've loved the kind of Be Here Now sound again, but that is very doubtful.

FIrst off, the Magic 8-Ball never lies. Second, there was a rumor floating around a while back that they had brought in an orchestra to Abbey Road studios, but that could be pure bollocks.
Even is they did, there is no guarantee that any of it was used. Who knows - I for one would love a DBTT meets BHN...

Well, b/f they entered the studio, noel was talking about how he wanted the whole kitchen sink thing, but since then, i haven't heard any references like that. All that i've heard since they actually started making the album is that it's rocking, psychedelic, and focuses round the grooves. It could still (and i hope it does) sound fancy and huge, but i don't think you can say what he said before he recorded the album has as much validity as his description after he recorded it. I'm so excited though that they seem to be trying something really different, really exciting. I can't wait till this afternoon though, we'll probably have a good idea how the albums going to sound
