OK, I'm sorry for having a go I just thought you were and was quite insulted by what you said.
I still really don't agree with you about HC being dull. Sure it has it's low points but it's high points can rival any other era in oasis' career. DBTT is consistent but boring, too many non-noel written songs as well. If you took the best three songs off HC and put them up against the best three on DBTT you would see what I mean here.

3 songs don't make an album.
DBTT is better IMHO but I do like HC.

Yeah but those three songs alone, I think, separate the album's completely. DBTT is consistently mediocre (none of those songs, if written in the past, wouldve made it onto any oasis album regardless of sound) whilst HC hits almost MG heights with some of it's anthems and rockers.

Heathen Chemistry was shit, I hope it's not that.

TIOBI destroys anything on HC in my opinion, and is good enough to stand with the '94-'95 era songs.

SCYHO, Songbird and BOADC would have trouble in a war against TUTS, Lyla, ABWR, LTBL, POTQ, KTDA abd TIOBI

The Hindu Times is miles better than TUTS for an album opener. I really dislike TUTS to be honest.

You're looking at HC through rose tinted lenses
Yeah, it has a few amazing stand out tracks: SCYHO, Song Bird, Little By Little, Hindu Times....BOADC is ok too
But has way too much average filler for my liking: FON, HIABP, Quick Peep, Better Man....
While with DBTT, almost every tune on it is quality: TUTS: Real stomper Lyla: Typical Oasis crowd pleaser TIOBI: Class Noel POTQ: One of Noel's finest - "Every beginning has broken its promise" is one of Noel's best ever lines LLAB: Great when the piano comes in and the song exlodes KTDA: Drags on a bit too long, production could be better on this song, but still like it - similar to Stand By Me, imo MOS: Great attitude
In reality, there's only 3 medicore songs on DBBT: MF, LTBL, and ABWR...and those aren't as bad or as pointless as Better Man or A Quick Peep!
As for production, I thought HC was ok, but I agree - there's no flow to it, and I can't listen to it straight through either - while DBTT only gets a bit borring towards the end, ala A Bell Will Ring
DM: 5/5 - Rock Classic WTSMG: 5/5 - Anthem classic BHN: 4.5/5 - Such fun to listen to! DBTT: 4.5/5 - Better than BHN lyrically, and more focused too but not as much fun HC: 3.5/5 -Good tunes, but too much average filler SOTSOG: 3.5/5 - Has better tunes than HC, but has Oasis worst ever songs on it (LJ, PYMWYMI, ICIAL) so should be penalised for that
*Actually, I have a hard time separating SOTSOG and HC....

THT is so terrible. I cannot believe so many people like that crap song. It's the definition of 'contrived'. It was them trying to recreate a Rock n Roll Star opener.
Plus, the riff is a total rip-off of the Stereophonics' 'Same Size Feet'. Go listen to that song and see what that riff can really do. THT is the worst album opener by far and TUTS pisses and shits all over it. It has a much better introduction, verses, chorus, and lyrics.

I think on Heathen Chemistry they were trying way too hard to be a bare bones Rock band. Because Be Here Now didn't go down well with the critics apparently. Not sure though, wasn't there to remember the release.

MF is the best song on DBTT But i agree w/ you, DBTT is extremely consistent, and even if i don't feel there's any songs that match up to anything off DM, MG, or BHN, all the songs are interesting, and it feels very concise. It doesn't trail off or lose it's energy halfway through like i feel HC did. I give all oasis albums 5 stars btw

Oh and as I said in my "new album = DM" thread, it's def not going to be another HC. HC tried to be WTSMG, it was built upon anthems (LBL, SCYHO) but failed because it was too forced and ended up with half the album consisting of filler.
As I said in my other thread too, this will be a more DM type album - raw, energetic, and groove based sound, NOT ballads or anthems, or sing-songs. But rather, pure rock. HC was as far as you can possibly get from that rock sound of DM.
So get off your high horse (lady), it's not going to be anything like HC, which is good news imo!
