I have no idea. It doesn't make any sense to me, but I think Mr. Monobrow mentioned FITB was played before any SOTSOG song, and that wasn't a single.

sotsog was the only oasis release i wasn't really rabid for. i was into the trance/dance scene taking too much ecstasy at the time, i bought it on the release day but never gave it a proper chance.

I thinking that if it's just bullshit, then it appears more credible as the logical thing to lie about would be the lead single. Other than that, I reckon the Oasis marketing team is up to something crafty.

are you suggesting that they're testing the waters? If it doesn't really catch on, then they'll try another song. Say, didn't Coldplay basically do the same thing with Violet Hill and then Viva la vida?

I doubt it's an actual promo. There's a promo coming in about 14 days time. Supposedly a remix of some track. It's a nice feature to release something a bit special like this a la Can You See it Now and FITB.
I don't know why he'd play Falling Down though? Apparently the DJ is friendly with Noel, maybe it's a one-off thing?

Does it say anywhere if the song will be in full? The chances are he will play a 45 second snippet, and then plug the tour. Probably just trying to generate some more interest. "If you want to hear the song in full buy tickets to go see Oasis and hear more of their new material..."

why are radio stations getting a falling down promo now? seems kind of odd to me. and if its been sent out why hasn't this song leaked yet? maybe because they realized its stupid to do a tour (however small it may be) without having any new material out and the album release 2 months after these gigs.

This seems to be kinda like what happened way back in 1997 with Be Here Now and how they would release songs every once in a while in the States. In Philly, they did something like that, I remember hearing Be Here Now (the song) as an "exclusive album cut" on the radio (Y100 R.I.P.) months before.
Of course, this is before the Internet as we know it, and they were much more willing to let radio stations play whatever they wanted, without fear it'd hit Pirate Bay within 10 minutes.

Could Noel be thinking this is his last chance to break America. I know Oasis are popular in America but they are no where as big as thy are in the UK.
He could of happy produced a album with STOC and RM and kept he British audience happy but could this new "groove" be focused for the America market?

USA/Canada - same market isn't it?

I would say Canada gives Oasis more love than the U.S., seems to have been that way the last couple album cycles. They certainly aren't one and the same.

I was and still am angry the took Y100 off....and added another RAP station. Y100 was the best for rock, why didn't they chop the dire PST or Q102?....Ben FM sucks. There's one that's good now, like Y100, I think it's 104.5 - or thereabouts....but NOTHING will ever replace Y100 (God rest its soul)

I never heard of Y100 playing anything off BHN. I'm surprised Creation allowed them to play anything before the release. they kept that album under wraps. and US and Canada are different I believe that some recent oasis singles have charted quite well over there but here in the US things have not gone so well.

Could be a number of reasons why;
*Could be testing the waters in general. *The song that would appeal most to Americans/Canadians who aren't fans (to get more people to the shows). *For old/current Oasis fans in American/Canada who want something for the new Album (because by the time they start touring here in the UK, we'll have the LP) *To tease the us in the UK (haha).
I dunno, could be a number of reasons, we'll see.
