All we hear is people whining about how the titles suck, even before they hear the song, which shouldn't even matter, because if Live Forever was called "Poo on a Shoe", I would still like it.
So people. What is the perfect title? What kind of title would you hope to see Oasis release?
Personally, I would say Pass Me Down The WHINE, cause there is a lot of that in regards to song titles.

I'm not sure I could like a song called "Poo on a Shoe," at least publicly.

Gas Panic! is a pretty awesome title, as is Magic Pie!

To me song titles are like names. So they ARE important, but its more complicated than that.
Take the weight. Really boring song title. Really amazing song. But then there are songs with crazy titles that dont do much. Sort of like born on a different cloud. Cool title, derivative muddy song.
I like these new titles. Get off your high horse sounds very rolling stones to me. Which is good.
The nature of reality is a bit heavy of a topic/title for a rock song to me. But shock of the lighting is really cool. Could go well with a heavy bluesy riff/backbeat.
It depends. Overall i like the new titles. They dont soound as derivative as noels titles usually sound to me. Like magic pie, or she is love, which sound very beatlesque...

I don't think anyone means to say that a bad title ruins a song, but it is important.
I can speak for myself to say that I didn't like Live Forever the very first few times I heard it; I was new to the band, and even if I wasn't, it needed time to grow on me. If it had been called Poo On A Stick, I'd have thought, 'these guys are weird' and the song might never have grown on me.
Titles don't matter nearly as much as the songs, but the thing is, I like to dig as much about the whole album as I can. When I was 14, 16, I used to buy a new CD, take it home, and play it for hours and hours while I studied the artwork til I knew every detail and every word of every song by heart. So every detail means something.
Also, I'm going to be talking about this to people who havent heard about the music. I don't want to be running around telling people how excited I am about The Shock Of The Lightning. A title like Stop The Clocks would look better on a poster or a shirt.
Better titles, I don't know. I'm not a songwriter. TSOTL could've been alright if it were shortened to Shock, or The Shock, or even Lightning. But the full title sounds like something I'd have come up with when I was 6 for the finishing move I was gonna use when I became a WWF wrestler or whatever.

i think its hard to declare a title poor until you actually hear the track. If one doesnt know what the song sounds like or even what it is about, how can you say that its title is poor? im confident that, after hearing the album, most of us will understand the purpose behind the titles and will be more than satisfied with them. we are all just so anxious for new material...

Be Here Now is favorite album name. I don't think too much about song names, but I Hope, I Think, I Know is pretty bad.
Or maybe that's just because I don't like that song.

I'd say Gas Panic! and Lord Don't Slow Me Down are the best.
Maybe Go Let It Out! too, like it when they use exclamation marks.

I also hate The Girl In the Dirty Shirt, reminds me of a Britney Spears (OR Christina Aguilera) tune. Then again that song sucks.

Stop The Clocks Let's All Make Believe Idler's Dream Gas Panic!
They're probably my favourite Oasis song titles. I also think "If there's a God" would be a great title if they ever release that song.
