Definitely, "soldier on" is not a common phrase at all and was invented solely by the genius, god-like figure that is Chris Martin. "St. Elmos Fire" by John Parr (1985). he uses the lyric "soldier on", and the fact that I know this makes me very sad.

Chris Martin could have heard Oasis' demo and lifted the lyric into his own song...kinda like he did with Viva la Vida (song) What lifted Chris here?

Highly doubtful. I think, giving Oasis' reputation in Music, that they wouldn't need to stoop and take from Coldplay.
Look at the influences, Beatles, Stones, Smiths, T-Rex... etc.... Coldplay?, nah.
