According to Noel's latest interview there is a track on the album titled "Soldier On."
I was listening to the latest Coldplay album and noticed that in the song "Lover's In Japan" Chris Martin sings ,"Soldiers you've got to soldier on."
Do you think this is a coincidence? Or do you think Liam heard Coldplay's song months ago and lifted the lyric? Or do you think Chris Martin lifted it from an Oasis demo?

Well, it was supposed to be demoed ages ago, so probably not...

Chris Martin could have heard Oasis' demo and lifted the lyric into his own song...kinda like he did with Viva la Vida (song)

i'll be willing to bet that the words 'soldier on' aren't even uttered once in the entire song.

Definitely, "soldier on" is not a common phrase at all and was invented solely by the genius, god-like figure that is Chris Martin.

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Noel, I remember in an interview Noel said the newer British records he loved at the time were Parachutes by Coldplay and the Last Broadcast by Doves.

Nope, Liam went to a concert with them and praised them for being the new big deal.

If my memory serves me correctly, I think he did like them. He and Chris Martin was even in the process of writing a song together. Then Liam called Gwyneth Paltrow a "Gawky bird" in some magazine, and called Chris Martin a "Student knobhead" or something like that too. I'm sure someone on here remembers that story to.
As for the song "Solider On", I can't wait to hear it. I imagine a more rockier version of Born On A Different Cloud. I think it should be very good!!!

these times are the best and worse of times....endless, pointless speculation based on 2 word song titles and the droning threads that go with it, and simultaneously, the almost unaffected anticipation to get to the truth in 3 months.
So in that light, I think Soldier On is really about Liam's undying inner obsession of sending more troops into Iraq to shore up Sunni and Shiite relations.
I heard one of the lyrics goes: "get em' in there, in there now. we got to get em' ship-shaped before we get out"
christ.

I'm pretty sure noel meant this was the last song to be added to the album-like recorded. Not necessarily the closer on the tracklisting. Anyone else read the interview like that? I still think stop the clocks might be on it!
