i dont understand what Noel is on about. 5 DIFFERENT VERSIONS?? will there be different tracks, bonus tracks or will the quality just be better? OR WHAT?

I'd buy all three of the physical versions, man! Unless there's some digital only exclusive tracks for the digital ones, I won't buy them.
I still hope there is an DVD single to the normal single to this time around.

^^^^ Or exaggerating as he tends to do. I fully expect to have a leaked version before the album is released, so no way am I paying for shit d/l's. I will happily fork over cold, hard, cash for all physical versions that come out.

If anyone doesn't know, the RIAA recently started saying it's illegal to even rip a CD unless you own the copyright. Technically true, even though they were saying it was perfectly fine when this whole mess started. So of course there will be people buying both physical and digital. I thought he was joking until I saw this thread, which now that I think about it might be possible. The 'slightly more expensive' digital version might be in a lossless format or something. The deluxe version could have a DVD, and the super deluxe could be in a special box or inside a hardcover book version of the liner notes like Weller's new album. Maybe I'm a cheapskate, but I'll most likely be buying the standard version when it comes out, then buy anything else when the price goes down on eBay, if at all. Even that Asian DBTT with ICSIN is affordable now. If the super deluxe is some ridiculous $500 numbered set with a coffee table book and exclusive glossy photos, ehhhhhh ... no. I bought the DualDisc (maybe that has something to do with it) version of DBTT and never got a standard version ... there's just no point if it just sits there with my hundreds of other CDs, and I mostly just listen to my ripped version on winamp ... oops, I'm a criminal.  |

I think the writer just worded it weird so it seems like he could be saying there actually is 5 versions of the album. That said, if there is a "Super Deluxe" version, if its extremely limited edition like Radiohead's In Rainbows one, I'd be willing to bet that it'll be UK only as Radioheads (in terms of where its distributed from). However, like that, you'll be able to import it. I doubt US shops would get it in. In the end, I think that Noel was just pointing an example of the differences of releasing an album now and the past, not necessarily that Oasis will have 5 different versions, but the verbiage of the article is not clear on this. That being said, Ill download the digital, and buy the highest end version. If the high end version is really limited or special to the point of being that Id rarely play it, Id pick up the physical regular version as well. |
