Bag It Up - Opening track. Inspired by the Pretty Things' song 'Baron Saturday' which appeared on their 1968 album S.F Sorrow. Noel's gutted as he didn't realise ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell released a song of the same name.
The Shock of the Lightning - The first single, written by Noel, sung by Liam. Out on September 29. 'Instant and compelling' according to Noel.
I'm Outta Time - Liam-penned, Liam-sung 'lighters-in-the-air, John Lennon moment' according to Noel. First heard being rehearsed by Liam on DBTT studio documentary.
Stop The Clocks - Rumoured to be on there. Yet to be confirmed. We've all heard this one.
Get Off Your High Horse (Lady) - Rumoured title yet to be officially confirmed.
Soldier On - Another Liam number, last track on the album. Liam recorded it with Andy while pissed and band forgot about it until The Coral stumbled across it in Noel's studio and begged them to record it. Noel describes it as 'just one verse and one chorus' and 'a kind of lost-and-found story'. It goes 'a bit dubby' at the end and Noel plays melodica on it.
In his Mojo interview, Noel says he demoed three of his tracks at Gem's house. He says, 'One of them sounds like The Stooges doing Fool's Gold. One of them sounds like Strawberry Fields on really fucking cheap bad acid. Another one started off sounding like a strummy, A-minor, very plaintive love song, but when we were doing it at Gem's I was like, Fuck it, and it ended up like The Doors' Peace Frog, with this heavy two-note riff. 'The other four (of his seven tracks) were also in this vein of real deep-sounding fucking rock songs.'
This might give us an idea of what he means:
The Doors - Peace Frog
The Pretty Things - Baron Saturday
Also...
Liam - I'm Outta Time (clip from DBTT doc)

I don't think STC is on, he said Soldier On was the closing track, and that all seven of his songs were brand new. What really gets me excited is Noel's quote that he got all the great stuff leftover from DBTT planned for the album, and it sounded like b-sides to him! Hopefully we'll get some quality singles now

I'm surprised to see nobody comment on this, but Noel made references to two batches of songs in the MOJO interview. There was the 'first three', and the 'other four'. If my maths is correct that adds to SEVEN and not six songs. Of course, this interview could have very well have been conducted before he decided to pull one of his songs off the album.

This is twice that Noel's said he's got 7 on the record (this and the edge interview), and this could have been b/f he took a song off the record, but until i hear something different i'll take his word for it

The other thing concerns the final track. There have been rumours flying about, before May even (correct me if I'm wrong), that the final track on the album is a Noel epic. One could have read that in 2 ways i.e. 1) it's Noel written tune and/or 2) Noel sings it. Everything started to point towards this even more after the recent suggestion that the final track is likely to be 'Stop the Clocks', which would fit the earlier description claimed for the final track.
However, now we have Noel going on record stating the final track is neither 1) or 2) i.e. Liam written/sung. Again, this is something that could have been changed. I doubt that 'Soldier On' has been scrapped entirely ala 'Stop the Clocks' with DBBT, but if I was to form a (foolishly optimistic) theory, maybe the tracklisting has been tweaked with 'Stop the Clocks' re-appearing as the 12th and final track? The two sets of apparently 'reliable' information from Kasabian Tom and now the scyho blog BOTH conflict with what Noel said. I'm not suggesting that they were both made up, but rather I'm curious to learn more about the penultimate track list, as I suspect certain last minute changes were made.

if I was to form a (foolishly optimistic) theory, maybe the tracklisting has been tweaked with 'Stop the Clocks' re-appearing as the 12th and final track? T Noel has 7 tracks right? Liam as 3, Gem & Andy have 1, right? That's twelve. In the Mojo interview, Noel says he has 7 tracks (3 + 4), and he also mentions the last track is Liam's 'Soldier On' so to me it seems there's already 12 tracks on it. So 1) Stop The Clocks was on it but they simply re-arranged the tracklist. 2) They scrapped a track for Stop The Clocks. 3) Stop The Clocks isn't on it. I'm going with option 3 at the moment.

You never know, STC may be a hidden track at the end of the album like The Cage on HC.
Small chance i know, but possible.

Nice one. Well, all I will say is that the sycho.com rumour appeared only a few days ago, which is much more recent than when this interview was conducted. I know that's just from an unconfirmed source, but that to me means I wouldn't be so sure about 3), and I'd lean slightly towards possibility 1). In all likelihood, my instinct tells me it won't appear, but you never know.

It appears so I really hope it is all new material. I loved the leaked demos, but just want something fresh. Would be more then happy if these leaked song turn up as b-sides, but then again, if not, at least we do have these songs. Would be gutted if i'd held out on listening to them if they don't turn up on the album.

if this album is going to have indeed 12 tracks, 10 of them are from the gallaghers! this has got to be a good sign! and i'm still hoping that rumor about RM being a noel 10 minute epic is true.. (who knows?)
chris sharrock (is this it?) was really confirmed as the "new" drummer?
