I love this song and I think it's better than STC. The melody's better, it's reminiscient of late-Beatles stuff, great drum beat and I love when it kicks in! (You can't give me a reason, I don't need one to shine!) I'll be really, really disappointed if this is left off. Don't know what you guys think but that's my opinion.

don't care, really. As far as I'm concerned, I already have a great version of it, and if its bent off for a "better" tune, I'm all for it.

If I had to choose between a better version, and a new song... give me more material any day. That being said, it's a great tune!

You can tell from the demo what a classic that song could be... If Noel made the verse lyrics better (that whole dramatic lyrical thing he went through during SOTSOG & HC was horrific) and made the song dynamic with amazing guitar sections and orchestra ala Masterplan, it could be one of the best songs we've ever heard. And Liam on vocals of course. If we get it on the record and it's just a similar version to the demo I'll be inconsolably distraught. When I got Heathen Chemistry and it had the same atrocious demo of Force Of Nature that was on the Love Honour & Obey soundtrack I was in a state of serious distress. ...still am...

There are some fantastic lyrics on SOTSOG. Go Let It Out and Who Feels Love? are perfect. Sunday Morning Call and Roll It Over each contain a couple of gems, and Gas Panic! is arguably Noel's finest work.
Conversely, the best lyrics on Heathen Chemistry were written by Liam.

The lyrics could use a little re-write. What's that line.. "there's a party in my mouth and everyone's invited..." Horrible.

I dont fucking care if its there or not.
Id rather have 10 new songs, than 9 + 2 we've already heard in some form.

I'm more referring to his weird biblical sounding lyrics like She Is Love (if you replace SHE with HE you have the ultimate worship song)... he did it a few times and it shows up again in the demo of Record Machine... "help me define the light that's shining on me"... "the path that leads to all the glory" and especially... "the words that tell a sacred story"... Gag me. These are a long way from Noel's classic lyrics, when even his gibberish sounded cool as hell.
...but the chorus and outtro are the ultimate classic Oasis we love.

He probably spent too much time listening to Richard Ashcroft*.
