I became a huge fan of oasis shortly after DBTT was released. (Live Forever was the song that did it for me )I have purchased every album and have all the B sides and C sides if you will (bootlegs, demos, rare). What i am getting across to all of you is that i love this band. Since then, i've followed the progress of the new material very closely, and i absolutely cant wait for October! I want to say that this album will be up there with DM MG and BHN, but this would be a rather rash claim on my behalf since i never was an oasis fan during an album release. Therefore, my question to you all is: What was the anticipation like before DBTT was released? was it more or less hyped? What about HC? I need not to know the information on the anticipation behind BHN since every true fan knows how collosal that release was. BTW- this is my first post here... recently signed up but ive been browsing this forum for two years now! Webbie i've got to give you props on the invention of the "play pen." Thats funny stuff i think... proper name

The anticipation is always pretty big on here from what i can gather, this is my first release as a poster, but I think in the wider world there is some genuine excitement.

I love it when a new Oasis album comes out, totally remember where i was and where i bought it everytime a new album comes out !
DBTT i think surprised many of the critics and fans seem to love it, a very successful album and better than HC and SOTSOG (But i would say that ones a grower)
I hope this new album is even better and doesnt disappoint, i hate hearing negative Oasis press about their albums etc.
But for me just hearing 11-13 new songs on an album from Oasis is superb. I'll download it as soon as it leaks but i'll 100% buy it (Like you i have all the singles/albums etc), just hope its gonna be superb but very exciting times.

i found the build up to the heathen chemistry slighty strange. it started almost the year before then THT and HIABP were played on the 10th aniversary tour, then they played those songs accross the two dates in february of 02. At the time of those dates noel confirmed the album was done, then THT was released as a first single 3months ahead of the album. then BANG as the single came out the album leaked. I remember hearing songbird for the first time, i couldnt believe it, it was amazing. after the leak oasis tried to say the leak wasnt a mastered version (only better man changed slighty by the time the record hit the shops). but after the leak the hype died down a bit and people concentrated more on the fact that it leaked so early.
DBTT the had alot more hype around (most of it generated by noel). but that hyped bulit up slowly towards the release date, not like HC which was built up for almost 6 months!!

If anything leaks just expect a 20 page long thread consisting entirely of 'can you pm me it plz', 'me too', 'yeah and me', 'can I have it plz', 'could someone PM me it plz' etc etc.

I think this is pretty much dead nuts. DBTT really brought a gang of fans back into the fold and also made a small dent with some of the younger folk here stateside. I've read more than a few u.s. based websites actually use the phrase "highly anticipated" in reference to "dig out your soul" ... which is a widespread first in the u.s. since be here now in my observation. A great album in three months would really shore them up a bit more over here.

The Importance Of Being Idle was the first Oasis song I liked, so I've never been a fan during the build up to an album release. I wish I coulda been there in 97 before Be Here Now came out
