NME recently had a contest to see which song would launch the new NME radio station. Oasis were leading all votes with What's the Story Morning Glory as Polls closed. But to our surprise a Muse song won ( how that happened nobody at NME fucking cares to explain) It seems that our buddies at the largest Coldplay forum had a plan in place on how to topple Oasis from #1 Coldplay fans were urged to give Oasis the lowest number (1) and use an autorefresh program to cast Coldplay votes. Although they failed in winning the contest one can only wonder what other sites went through to get their results...... www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46969

Meh. They're the ones that have to live with a shit album and their band getting completely panned for their free yet thoroughly awful MSG gig.
This is precisely the kind of formulaic, self-absorbed bullcrap I'd expect from fans of the most formulaic, self-absorbed band on Earth.

I love hearnig about Mr. Palthrow and his band if you wanna hear what concert goers in NYC have to say about all the venues and bands then read www.brooklynvegan.comA lot of comments on there say that Chris was a bit of an ass during the show as he kept reminding everybody throughout that they got in for free

Apparently Mr. Paltrow forgot his lyrics and messed up chords multiple times, really short set, and the staging etc came off as poorly rehearsed. Spoke to someone who went the other day and she was pretty honked off and saying she expected a little more professional performance, even though it was free. Oh and the band was joking about it the whole time along the lines of "no refunds." Far be it from me to criticize too much as Liam has been known to phone it in from time to time but you'd figure a gig for your new material at MSG with people who went out of their way to participate in your contest... you might be bothered to actually put on a passable show.

That's pretty fun actually, they cheated and still didn't manage to get to the first two places! So long for the best band in the world! Hahaha I'm so glad that Oasis and Muse ranked before them because those are the best bands in the world

What's the general feeling from Oasis towards Muse and vice versa? I can't remember reading or seeing Oasis slag of Muse?

I recall Noel once saying he liked Muse because they were mad or something. Could have dreamt it.

I know there are some serious Muse fan on this board eventhough they place Oasis before Muse (as I do but they're so different) I think I read Noel qualifying them as "Space Jazz" I don't really know what Noel/Liam think about Muse, they're two different leagues so I don't think that journalists bring Muse too often when they interview Oasis whereas they always bring out Coldplay, AM and the likes... As for Muse as far as I'm aware they don't talk much about Oasis but I can't tell for sure, I've stopped reading the press a long time ago Muse and Oasis prob share a common fan base but I think it's a minority... Oasis is "older"...

I actually like Coldplay. I've seen them a few times and they were great live on their last tour. I think what the colplay fourm did was pretty weak though. Who does that?
I don't like pitting Oasis vs. Coldplay...I think that's ridiculous. Both bands have mutual respect for each other. Coldplay is a bit more commercially digestible then Oasis and that's why they're a bigger band. That doesn't make Coldplay a bad band. But the fact that Oasis isn't as commercially accessilbe is a reason why I love them.
Either way...there's room for both bands on my iPod...so who give a feck at the end of the day. It's just music.

Totally agree (the vomit thing was a joke ) I think Coldplay is a good band and all that, I used to love AROBTTH and I don't think that any of the other albums is close to being as good as it. However I don't get the whole "best band in the world" thing... Haha they're on TV right now So yeah pretty lame from Coldplay fans...
