I hope the artwork for the next record isn't dark in theme and/or boring like the last three (SOTSOG wasn't boring, but not "Oasis" by any means). The first three records and all their B-Sides had classic artwork that really captured the mood of the music... Stop The Clocks had amazing artwork so hopefully they're back on track. DBTT and Heathen Chemistry were among the worst record covers I've ever seen, and instantly gave the music a boring feel before even listening to the record...

The album cover doesnt really influence my opinion on the music, but I agree that I would like to see some artwork in the same style as the first three albums and STC, (We've already got the best album title in over a decade!!)

I have to say i disagree. When listening to HC, for the longest time that grey, monotone, boring image came to mind. I think it can greatly influence your impression/mood of the music. |

Don't Believe The Truth is their best album cover in my opinion. But as Liam himself says, "Why don't people have a picture of a band instead of a stupid fucking picture"

hopefully is more groovy as the record is supposed to be... hope they keep the classic logo... i hate the other logos

I'm fine if the band are pictured on the cover, that's awesome... but it should hopefully look amazing like DM, BHN, Rockin' Chair, or DYKWIM?... Or if they aren't pictured something like Stop The Clocks is an example of world class artwork without the band... The cover always influences how I think about the music... I think of green when I hear Stand By Me... and Red Swirls when I hear DLBIA... Hopefully this next one gives some vibe to the tunes...

If it's not a photo could it still be of the band cos I hate cartoons of oasis, they're really tacky and stereotyped-they represent all the negative things people accuse oasis of! That's the way not to go! I'm hoping for something really old/cheap looking and psychedelic. I can see the XTRMNTR artwork with dig out your soul written on it or Evil Heat. Now that'd be cool...  |

it's not too important but it's nice to have a decent cover..SOTSOG and some of the early singles had the best...i just hope it's not some amateur looking hogshit like HC & DBTT..
they fucking look like covers from bootleg cassette tapes

I agree that DBTT was the dullest album cover the band have had.
STC was back on track, so hopefully they will continue this.
They've had enough time to sort it since they finished recording the album.

Agreed. The Heathen Chemistry artwork in particular - all the way through - just looked really amateurish. story is the photog dropped the camara and that was shot and they liked it. |

I'd like a nice artwork too, HC and DBTT's were truely horrible whereas they usually have awesome artworks!!!
Look at the singles' artworks, most of them are really cool

I would like to see them work with Peter Blake again who did the work for Stop the Clocks! I would not be surprised to see Pete McKee involved for some reason.
With the recent Brighton posters that he did being on sale on the inet shop and Noel called him one of his favorite artist recently. I could see him being involved.
I love the work Brian Cannon did the best and I would love to see him come back and do some work with Oasis again.
