hehe....d'you really expect that? "songs that you would have to connect to - to feel." isnt that the whole premise behind oasis in the first place?? "I wanted a sound that was more hypnotic; more driving. Songs that would draw you in, in a different way." does that mean he tried to write songs similar to liam's?? i actually don't get at all what noel means? a SOTSOG type of record (without the overproduction) like live4evr alluded to maybe?

Well I think he's trying to be very abstract with his descriptions, so don't go crazy trying to understand it. My take on what he said is this isn't going to be as poppy as WTSMG or DBTT. That sing-a-long factor he's mentioned the new songs don't have, those albums basically thrived on it. I have a feeling the production is gonna sound very similar to the "Nothing On Me" version that leaked. Heavy, has that groove, and is kinda trancy as Gem described the new stuff being. So in that sense, maybe it is gonna be a little more Liam-sounding?

Meaning of Soul may have actually been the most critically praised song off DBTT -- and if they're going for driving rock I think we can expect more along those lines, like Nothing On Me.
I hope they just don't go too far in that direction and lose anything melodically then end up sounding too garage band if you know what i mean. If the orchestral rumors pan out, and their definition of "hypnotic" and "trancy" is more like the end of STC and not quite so heavy I think it'll be perfect.

Look, at the end of the day, Oasis don't produce crap albums. Ok some albums have crap songs, but that's it.
Take the 3 weakest Oasis albums (by general consensus) - BHN, SOTSOG, and HC, and you get quality quality songs from all 3
DYKWIM, SBM, DGA, AATW
FITB, GLIO, WDIAGW, GP, RIO
SB, LBL, SCYHO, BOADC
So we know we're guaruenteed at least 4-5 fantastic songs out of 10 or 11 - which would make it an average album at worst. I think the odds are great that we're going to get a better than average, and dare i say monumental album.
Coming off of DBTT, no one should be thinking it's doom and gloom for Oasis. That time was in the arly 2000s with SOTSOG and HC. That time has passed. A new optimistic era has begun for Oasis. It started with DBTT, and it'll continue through DOYS.
MAD FER IT
