i don't really think it sounds like the rolling stones, oasis, heavy metal or anything like that, and certainly not nirvana. it sounds completely ridiculous. it sort of remotely sounds like barry white or al green. i think that under no circumstances should oasis be using the word soul in an album title or song. i would, to be wholly fair, be pleased with something vague like 'dig out'. or actually how about something weird/vague like 'oasis dig out'? but anyway, yes, how about something more on the vague side than the stupid side?

I really like "Dig Up Your Soul" a lot. I hope it's that and not "Dig Up"

I don't beleive it. How many titles have been rumored now? All turned out to be fake - evidently - this one is no different.
Plus, it sounds like something Liam would create "Dig Out Your Soul"....Don't see Noel letting Liam gain control of the title decision, let alone okaying this title
Also, Dig Out Your Soul sounds like the tracks would be heavy rockers (can't 100% make this claim of course, it's just my interpretation) - kinda like the tunes on DM. I know the debate rages on about STC/RM being on the new album, but even if they aren't on it, I strongly feel that the album will be filled with those types of songs - more anthems than out and out rockers....DBTT combined with BHN is what I'm hoping for
But who knows.
And honestly, who gives a fuck. Like a few others have already said, the title of the album and even the title of the tracks themselves mean fuck all. It would be nice to have good titles to both, but at the end of the day all that matters is the tune itself.

That's not to say this is or isn't the album title.

Finding cool album titles must not be so hard!! You just have to find something cool and catchy, it doesn't even have to be directly related to the content of the album Oh and since it's rumored it's not on the album, they could call the album "Record Machine" or something like they did for Stop The Clocks (best of) Or they could make a contest, we would have to submit ideas and the winner gets a cool prize... So many options...

a contest would be great in terms of marketing, and "Record Machine" would be a huge title, better than "Dig out your soul"... "Dig out your hole" seems to be a Sergio Leone movie with Clint Eastwood ahahah

I think that Dig Up Your Soul would make sense for their album IF all of the speculation is true. If it focuses on the "grooves", has a psychedelic feel, and keeps a "Revolver" type of sound, I think the album title works. But it doesn't really matter. When I hear it, I think of Dig! and also that Incubus song called Dig which I heard alot last summer, which is kinda about Digging your soul or mind or something judging by its music video. (don't take my word though I am no Incubus fan).
Just imagine if they had forums in the 60's and we heard a rumor that the next Beatles album was maybe going to be called "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"...think people would be a little confused? In a good way.

I like it, but it's worth remembering that there's always been weird titles touted before the release of the more recent albums.
Even Noel I remember before touring the US for DBTT telling a Philly DJ via phone interview that DBTT was going to be titled The Ear Has No Memory. They play into the whole thing, it gets people talking.
Good news is this kind of talk usually comes pretty close to the release!
Never been too worried about titles anyway personally, the music's all that matters.

They play into the whole thing, it gets people talking. This was an early idea for the title, and actually the name of the documentary on the DVD with the special edition of the album. So who know, maybe we'll get a Dig Out Your Soul documentary.

in 2005 Noel said that the first DBTT single had to be "She loves you"

Ok I was wrong. Although I still believe Liam came up with the title. It sounds like him.
Now it begins, that's the important thing. From now until October it's going to be very exciting.

I like the title for a change. It is going to kill me waiting on this though. Here i have been thinking we would have something by the end of the summer ( They need to put some stuff out to tide us over!!! I feel like i'm 5 years old and mom and dad have just told me "we know it is december but x-mas will not be until march this year"

Interesting They haven't had a album named after a song since BHN... f noel never said that the song was named "DOYS" but rather only that gem's tune contained those particular lyrics
