Who thinks that oasis will give us a free download of their first single, followed by a proper one with b-sides and then the album?
It seems everyone is doing this, this year and I was wondering if you thought oasis would do the same. This way, we could be hearing the first single in a matter of weeks, or even earlier as a surprise. Feeder had miss you up for download months and months before their album came out!
Just an idea, is this false hope?

Oasis aren't everyone though are they?
Can't see this happening, although Sony may have some ideas about it.

Oasis won't release anything for free. They've already been quoted as being dead set against that.
I wouldn't rule out an online pre-release though. Depending on how much lead time we get and how much intervening time between the pre-release and the actual album release, that may be the most effective way to prevent a "leak" in the traditional sense. And including bonus tracks, ticket presales, etc would be a good incentive.

Online pre release... I don't know about that It seems that the new contract with Sony gives Oasis (Noel) more power and knowing how clueless (and almost hostile) he is to computers and internet I'm not sure he would want that...

Noel is more of an old fashion person. Downloading the music just isn't has good as going to get it and reading the case. enough said
