The Sun is claiming the album is being released October 6: www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article1304401.eceKaisers bottle Oasis chart war KAISER CHIEFS have backed out of a potentially explosive chart battle with OASIS. Frontman RICKY WILSON boasted to me that his outfit had swiped the title of most popular band in Britain from NOEL GALLAGHER and his lads. With both acts set for big album releases in October, the music industry was getting its Calvin Klein-knickers in a twist over the prospect of them going head-to-head in the charts. But now the Kaisers have decided to release their as-yet-untitled third CD a week after Oasis issue their follow-up to 2005’s Don’t Believe The Truth. That should mean they both get a week at No1. A source revealed: October is shaping up to be a month of big releases. Not only are the Kaisers and Oasis scheduling new albums for that month, but KEANE are too. It’s going to be a titanic struggle at the top of the charts and the Kaisers want to get to No1. They think the best way of ensuring that does happen is to release after Oasis and before Keane. Last month Ricky told me: Music has moved on and I think we are the band that most music fans would see as the successor to Oasis. An old-fashioned head-to-head would have shown beyond doubt which band was top of the pops. So today I’m urging Ricky to rethink his plans. Put your hand down your Calvins, find your cojones and release your record on October 6, as Oasis intend to.I don't know who their source is considering Noel just said late September. I guess that's only a difference of a week...

This is getting annoying, watch the date continue to slip further back and the single to come out late, meaning no new Oasis for over 2 months.

Just building anticipation so more people buy it. I really don't mind if it's out in October to be honest, as long as it's this year.

I would still rather know the songs before I hear them for the first time in concert, I am seeing them in Toronto on the 7th of September.

that's what i don't get...why do alot of gigs before the album comes out? ? ? it makes for a shit experience going to the gig and not knowing half the songs that are played,,, and it'll probably hurt cd sales... i dunno.

Im a bit miffed at all this bs Aug, Sept, LATE Sept now October release dates? WTF? But, to be honest, I'll deal with it. Fuckin album better be [glow=red,2,300]ORGASMIC[/glow] for the long ass delay. Proper singles too, with real Bsides, not fuckin versions of Columbia from '95, I already have enough boots to get an idea of what the song sounded like then. Lets hear it for NEW Bsides!!!

Why debut new album material live a month or more before the actual CD release? That's actually a pretty good point. I have no idea why they'd do that. Perhaps they really are trying to stave off a leak and fool us with an earlier-than-expected release? Or maybe they're going to pre-release online (obviously not for free)?

They better not pre-release online... Oasis are one of the only bands I still get excited about going to the record store on the morning of release and getting the album... and listening to it for the first time with the liner notes and artwork etc... I'm like a 16 year old girl in 1965! Digital lessens the experience for me.... They've debuted songs live well before releasing previous albums... "It's Getting Better Man" was played way before Be Here Now came out... Hung In A Bad Place was played months before HC came out and A Bell Will Ring was played live well before DBTT... but it would be weird to play a whole set of the new record a month or two before release...

Noel keeps saying that he can't give the release date out or he'll have his manager on the phone telling him off.
This suggests to me that they have got something special planned, and are trying not to give the game away.
Plus Noel must know that these gigs are gonna be bootlegged, and i'm sure he wouldn't want some muffled audience recording to be the 1st impression of the new songs. So can't see the album coming out a month after these gigs.

I can't seem them playing the new songs live in those gigs anyway for the above reason.

I can't seem them playing the new songs live in those gigs anyway for the above reason. I'm not sure if it was pre-leak or not, but a fair few DBTT songs were definitely played live in the shows before the album came out (Idle, TUTS, ABWR, Mucky Fingers, MOS all were played in the 10 or so shows before the album release).

OMG, thats true, I think Noel said they had like 50 fuckin songs or something, course they all cant make it on the actual lp, so why not add them as Bsides to the singles?!! I say 4 singles, with 2-3 NEW Bsides. or a [glow=red,2,300]bonus disc with all the new albums demos/rarities.[/glow]
