i buy clash magazine every month, and at the back it has a diary of edith bowman, this month she says............. ''now i hope i dont get into trouble for this but i have heard the whole of the new oasis album, i could tell you what its called but then i would have to kill you, or i'd have a hit on me. What i can say is that they are back on form and, fuck me. on total firing form. there are 6 noel tracks, 3 from liam, one from gem and one from andy and they are all huge. The first single will hit you like a tonne weight and just reminded me of what i heard when stuff like supersonic and rock n roll star for the first time. liam has properly acquired the title of great songwriter and noel just kicks ass on guitar and vocals. gem and andy are also awlays the unsung heroes who deserve the recognition of holding the whole thing together. i had the pleasure of hanging out with them all doing interviews for their press stuff, which meant i had a hour long interview with each of them individually. we forget how great a band they are and no matter how people try , there really is only one liam gallagher, hes a proper legend, get excited cause it will blow you away. p.s those tracks that were leaked arent even on the album''had to write all that out so apolgise for spellings. i'll try and put a scan up later " ----- What's Clash magazine??? I ve never heard of itits like a music/fashion magazine, you cant get it from many places, only in like borders and stuff www.myspace.com/clashmagazine ----- "I used to buy Clash quite a bit until I decided to stop buying magazines altogether. I remember the section with Edith in the back of the mag that oxford_boy is talking about. " from the soapbox forum.

Nice find. Well fuck me- even though she uses the phrase "kicks ass" the blurb seems to lend an air of credibility for some reason....perhaps it's the more-than-glowing review!
I've been saying this one could be huge for the last three years though, so its no surprise to me...this band really has its affairs in order these days.
comparisons to rock n roll star, supersonic etc are almost too much to bear for an album 4 months out yet!
top stuff.

Cool, I'm getting very excited... I don't see a reason to doubt this, cos' there's really not much information.... but I'm sure some people will be very angry if the leaked songs aren't in the album... i'm actually enjoying this, cos' we finally got hear those almost legendary songs and we still got to hear 11 new ones! and really looks like it's gonna kick ass.... Hope the first single sounds different from the others... i mean, Lyla sounded like a pop version of The Hindu times, and this guy saying it reminded him of Supersonic just makes me more and more anxious

and another thing, if record machine and stop the clocks really are not on the album, that really speaks to the strength of it (the album), as bending them off is either genius or disaster. I've always felt that, with the exception of ten songs or so, Noel has always been a shrewd and thoughtful editor over the last ten years, and I'd expect nothing else on this record.

Is there any chance that Record Machine or Stop the Clocks will end up as b-sides? I would love to hear Record Machine with "loads of guitar solos."
I imagine one of those songs was a late cut because some previous source said Noel had 7 songs and now he has six.
What did this lady think of Don't Believe the Truth? Did that blow her away?
EDIT: Based on the context, that almost sounds like the first single is a Liam tune. Is that even possible?

Yay, I can't wait. I'm pretty sure she is a reliable source. Shame about Record Machine and STC though..

It really doesn't sound like her, to be honest. No way did she use the phrase 'kick ass'!

Well supposedly Noel pushed for Songbird to be the first single off HC, so anything's possible I guess. I'm just relieved that 6 are Noel compositions...7 would be even better, but I'll take 6. I do trust this broad for some reason. She's just real matter of fact about the shit.

I would love stc and record machine on there (improved a bit) but if some of the new songs sound like rock n roll star and supersonic that is fuckin mega. I just want a good album sure Record Machine/STC would be awesome but what if there are better tunes on the album. Still I don't fully believe this report but hell its exciting

we already have record machine and stop the clocks in versions that i personally love to listen to, don't care if they're demos. i want all new tunes, not ones i've already heard redone!! I'll take either of them redone as a b-side though gladly

I really couldnt give a fuck if stc or rm are on there, as long the album is as ambitious as Noel says its going to be. I love all the albums, but every album since bhn has seemed pretty bland/boring to me, i'm looking forward to that over-the-top, colossal, fucking huge sound thats been missing since bhn.

Good stuff, just hope its a huge sounding album like Be here now but with the songwriting of Morining Glory, one thing that no one has mentioned though, if edith fucking bowman has heard it then surely its going to leak very soon & i wont be happy when it does, i hope its stays in the towers of london till release day, then BOOM, oasis back with monumental sounding album that even god had wished he'd written it.
Quite suprised that record machine is not on it though, fucking love that tune but i have it anyway so not bothered either way!

Pete Bones: "As has been exclusively revealed on the Oasis Mafia forum at oasismafia.yuku.com/directory Jamie has revealed the new Oasis album title to be " Streets Ahead, Miles Behind". it now looks like the Mafia board will go down in history as THE place where the new album title was first shared with the world. sorry we couldn't wait for you Noel, but Jamie is THE man." lol.

Hopefully this will lead to more concrete news in the very near future, but for now sounds great! If the new tunes really do capture the excitement of Rock n Roll Star and Supersonic, then the wait will definitely have been worth it and then some!

"Streets ahead, miles behind" is fucking awful!!!!! Mind you if that is the new title, id be worried You really are a fucking idiot. First off, i dont believe any of this shit until the boys themselves confirm it, but that does sound like a typical Oasis album title Secondly, are you seriously judging the quality of the album by the title? You really are daft.
