I always thought the delays for album release dates were because of promotion, but there hasn't been any, unless you count the f-word...
They were talking more before they finished the album.

What are these? www.oasisinet.com/site.php?site=tourDude it is just a marketing campaign. It will be like this for a while then there will be an Oasis saturation and people will go wild for them. The album will sell cause everyone is dyeing to hear about it and then when they get stuff they will go mad for it cause they have been starved for so long. Its already got you 2 and many others on the board

Perhaps waiting for the Coldplay buzz to die down?

This is better than Oasis trying to lower expectations like before Be Here Now.

Patiently waiting for news on official album release date, album details (i.e. tracklisting), and U.S. tour dates...

Six words: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. People didn't know what the Beatles were up to until the weekend of it's release.

i think this is the end of oasis.. every album before this they were yapping up a storm to anyone who would listen 6 months b4 the release. we had tour dates 8 months in advance on the last album.. before the album was even titled i think i had my msg tickets.
zak left, something is def not right with whatever they have recorded. i don't see oasis in 2009

Keep in mind though that there is still no official record deal, that we know of since the last update. It benefits Oasis to keep there cards close. I think that they learned a great deal since their last two albums were leaked. If for some reason the album gets leaked, I would imagine the band would stand to lose a lot of money. I have a lot of faith in the new album. DBTT was a watershed moment for the band. Zak was a session man and never a full fledged member of the band, his leaving is a non issue. I don't think he really even played much on the recording of DBTT. Don't be in such a hurry for info... there is a lot of great music coming out this summer.

How is it bad that they're not rushing into it? If anything, I'd rather have them take their time and release the best fucking album they can.
And yes, I know Morning Glory was rushed into, but that was an entirely different time.

And yes, I know Morning Glory was rushed into, but that was an entirely different time. Yeah, I dont understand what Nova is on about. But let's not forget, he's the one who said that Oasis wouldn't even make another album or tour again a few months back, so much for that. Again there's 2 main theories for this, one more likely than the other, but both are possible too: 1.) Record Deal: Won't say anything until they got one 2.) Surprise Us All: For years, The Gallaghers would always big up their album as the best since DM/MG, but it always dissapointed. I don't think they believed that, I think they just wanted to arrogantly declare it. However, I feel that they KNOW this album is special, so they're gonna shut up. - Kinda like the story of the boy who cried wolf, the Gallaghers have cried best since DM too many times that no one will believe them now, and that it's become a kinda of turn off. So if they don't say it, and it's the best since MG, then we'll all be pleasantly surprised. Would be a good tactic by Oasis, if you ask me. And for the 500th time, there's good reason to believe this album is going to be HUGE. --- Also, there's no problems with the album itself. It's done. The Gallagher's are the most honest people in rock, if it went shit, we would know about it by now, and the album would be released much later than August/September. Nova and njoasisnyc have you forgot that Oasis have been doing this 14 years now? I think they know what they're doing.....

for me it's that simple: or is the record deal think, or they're simply trying a new approach, Noel said himself "can't talk or my manager would kill me"... the guy just thought that this would be better to promote the album, instead of promoting months before and keep doing it 'till it comes out... i
it's going to be a great album, specially for Oasis but to think it's going to be "special", like it's going to change the music scenario or it's going to sell a lot more is just naive, I'm sorry...

I feel that's directed at me. Of course its not going to change the music scene, we're not in the mid-90s, times are different. No band, old or new, will change the music scene as we stand now it today's society, no matter how monumental they are. But the album will sell well, as well as DBTT and probably slightly better. The album itself is going to be amazing. I really do feel this album will rival WTSMG, and could very well become our 2nd fav Oasis album

Gonna call it now, Noel won't be the one that wrote the best tune on the new album.
Probably wrong, but whatever man.

I would not look at it as bad news that we have gotten no news. Honestly i think it is better than them running their mouths about how this one is better then anything they have ever done.
1. It will not give the press a reason to proove them wrong 2. It is building excitment
As far as marketing i know something big is coming because the local radio stations in my area who use to rarely play oasis have been playing them left and right. What we are seeing here is just an extremly wise marketing move. They are giving listeners time to start thinking/askign questions about Oasis again so they can suck them in.
I think we will hear something soon and when we do if i were a betting man i would say the release will follow imidietly the anouncment. I could see them just coming out and saying new Oasis in stores next week. (when they do) If they do things that way it will not give leakers much time to do their work.
Also if radio stations are pumping Oasis back into main stream it tells me this next ablum will be huge in UK and definitly have a great impact in the states.
No matter how much it pisses me off i'm proud that the boys are keeping their traps shut on this one. Only time will tell though. Until then i just have to keep checking live4ever 50 times a day.
