Over here it's Coldplay and then "who the fuck are radiohead and oasis?" Then again, most people I know have shit taste in music, so I can't blame em. But once again, who cares? It doesn't matter. Every one knows the Backstreet Boys, and no one knows The Stone Roses. Does that mean anything? Of course it doesn't. But at the end of the day, The Stone Roses have made a mark on music, the BSB have not. People are entitled to like what they want, but the fact is that no matter what the current popularity level of either Coldplay or Oasis are, Oasis will go down in history as one of the best and MOST IMPORTANT bands of the late 20th century/early 21st century, while Coldplay will be forgotten about. So who gives a fuck that some 14 year old girl is irritatingly screaming at the fact that she can see Chris Martin whine his way through Fix You, or whatever? Oasis' legacy will outlast Coldplay. What more could we possibly want? Can't argue there man.

Somebody mentioned green day a ways back, and i think that's the best example around that if you have the songs, it doesn't matter how forgotten you've become, you can have a number 1 album. I dont know much about green day, but i dont think they had any real success since the mid 90's. But they put out a great album, and that's all that matters, it went to number 1. I have no doubts oasis could do the same. It got to #1 because Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September Ends got tons of top 40 airplay. Without that, it would've wound up like their 2 albums had. instead, it opened up a door to a whole new generation of music fans who were too young for Green Day in the mid 90's. Exactly, that's my point. They had the songs, and so it didn't matter to people if they had disappeared for ten years previously, all that matters is that the album's good. The same is true for oasis.

if anyones heard the coldplay album then there success will be shortlved in the US,the album is fuckin awful, theyre takin the piss with it an if anyone calls liams vocals again they want a slap because just listen to chris martins, awful. as for oasis in the US there appeal is comin back ,dbtt helped that but this album will shift a steady million i reckon, noels got his songwriting back to its best an that can only help, them new demos were superb

If its anything like in Australia, there's not much promo and no radio at all. In the last 5 years i think ive heard wonderwall maybe 3 or 4 times. No one even knows of Live Forever really. They just rely on the fanbase thats already there. I heard the Noel interview where he talks about the 10 things he loves and hates and DLBIA on the radio today. It was a special thing on emotions and they played that for oasis. Its the first time in ages I've heard any of their stuff on Australian radio. I know they played Lord Don't Slow Me Down on JJJ around christmas time and wonderwall too I think.

i can't believe people don't consider Radiohead to be the most well-known of the British bands here in the states. i think by far, Radiohead is the most glamorized of the three bands in the american media.
coldplay is pretty popular as well. Oasis definitely ranks in at third, but, as some have said just as well, give a shit. Oasis has legions of diehard fans here in the states, and as long as they keep coming to tour, we will all remain happy and know that we support the greatest british band in the past 20 years.
the one thing that chaps my ass is, Radiohead blew up all over the world with their Kid A album. What the fuck? It was like, no one had ever imagined using computer samples in rock music before. Thom Yorke was annointed a genius for something that was pretty obvious and not that awe-inspiring. Hip hoppers had been doing it forever. Radiohead are way overrated in my opinion. anything to take the "focus" off the goof-eye of Thom I guess. haha.. drunk jokes.
the only other dumber statement is when Bono called Steve Jobs a genius for creating the ipod?? Hello....a digital mp3 player was the natural progression beyond the CD walkman we all had in the mid90's. Bono is a dipshit.
Coldplay and their stupid ass Itunes commercials. Disgusting. Chris Martin sings like a weak-kneed, i just got smacked in the face, pussy. I liked the first album, really liked A rush of Blood...and didn't even bother with XY after hearing Fix You.
