I'd like to see "The Hindu Times," "I Hope, I Think, I Know," and "The Girl In The Dirty Shirt" live...

Noel should do Like A Rolling Stone You've got the idea, that would be mega. Here ya go: It's Noel doing Like A Rolling Stone during a soundcheck in Australia while he was doing his semi acoustic tour. The audio is shit though, but yo can make out the song, and it sounds really good!

If they could cover these songs (live or studio): New Age, Ocean (Velvet Underground) Drive Back (Neil Young)

I'd love to see Gimme Shelter. I think that would be awesome, but I don't know how they'd hit those high notes. I'd still like to see it.

Gimme Shelter is impractical because they don't use backup singers and thats all the song is.
I'd LOVE Hey Hey My My, but I can't see a Noel sung song being last.

In any case, I think a Stones cover would be cool. Maybe Jumpin' Jack Flash.
I think that opening riff and then Liam singing "I was born in a cross-fire hurricane" would be sweet.

They ought not cover anything. I'd rather they devoted ten minutes to one or two of their own songs. If I wanted covers I'd be down the karaoke bar every Friday night listening to Chinese people murder Dancing Queen.

yeah anything by the stones would be fitting: jumping jack flash, brown sugar, its only rocknroll, honky tonk woman. take your pick! it needs to be a great party type song for the encore. rocks by primal scream would work too. its basically stones by numbers anyway!

- God Save The Queen ( Liam, a rock n roll version) - Strawberry Fields (Noel, Acoustic) - Instant Karma (Liam and Noel) That last on could be very well done ... a dutch band called The Sheer, have some kind of Oasis sound .. and they coverd Instant Karma as well, sounds great, and very Oasis .. worthy to listen to, and imagine Oasis themself playing it ... could be MEGA ! here's the link: The Sheer - Instant Karma nl.youtube.com/watch?v=hU7nbS2Nixo

Getting back to the topic though, hate it when Oasis do covers, however the last half of Abbey Road Elephant Stone, Mersey Paradise, Where Angels play ...anything by the Roses. Noel doing Pure and Simple would be unreal also.

That's Entertainment - The Jam.... that would be mind blowing. I can hear it in my head and it's brilliant. Listen to Morrissey rendition of it, fuckin rockin'! I say they've done The Who, Beatles. I say they end it with FreeByrd. I kid I kid, I say they end it with [glow=red,2,300]"Barbarism Begins at home" by The Smiths [/glow]and have Andy do a 10mn bass jam off!

Love Spreads by The Stone Roses, I can really imagine Gem launching into the slick guitar riff and the crowd singing "Let me put you in the picture..."
And for Noel, a nice acoustic version of Strawberry fields in the middle of the set.

Ace of Spades by Motorhead I second this! However I've got a feeling we'll just be hearing My Generation again

couple of quick points: 1. i vote echoes/pink floyd 2. i also vote gimme shelter 3. or something else long with lots of geeeetars like down by the river/neil young or oh sweet nothin/velvet underground (which is really just nearly the same song as champagne supernova, remarkably.... check out the solos and the chord progressions) 4. the who suck for the most part 5. though a few songs are grand (the seeker... i likes me some seeker) 6. rule 26 about bands covering bands seems errant. i would be very careful about covering a band largely better than yours. you'll sound trivial, bad, and second rate, unless you do it in an interesting way. or unless you load the whole thing up with layers of swirly guitars. or if youre really on your game and youre good you might do both. though i guess most of this is really only important on recordings. live, cover away! fun fun fun 7. ?

I really would prefer it if they stuck to just playing their own songs, they've got enough to choose from.
If they really have to do a cover, I would prefer them to go back to I Am The Walrus.
