Is there anything left for Oasis to achieve?
For me (like Noel) it is a Number 1 album in the US, and to get the recognition they deserve there. What is your last achievement/goal for Oasis...is it
10 or more UK number 1's A UK number 1 that stays there more than 1 week A US hit single/album A number 1 in another country 10 Million or more selling album To play Hyde park/central park/New Wembley or another venue? Inducted in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame A Grammy Another great album that will be remembered for ever. Longevity
anything else, or have Oasis nothing left to achieve?

In terms of selling albums, filling venues and collecting awards, they have pretty much done it. Even America gave way to decent sized venues on the last tour. I would just like a decent album. And a live set list for the next tour that is not predictable.

He believes that SOTSOG was a blip to their ascendancy, and slowly they will be the best/biggest again.

I'd like to see them receive the respect and recognition they deserve here in America...which will never happen, therefore they better stick around forever

One more classic album. And actually classic, IE, in another league to the likes of DBTT.

The time to conquer US has passed, in my opinion - unfortunate, but as Noel once said "they-just-don't-get-IT". Their loss.
There is nothing more I would particularly like to see them achieve in terms of success, as they have done it all. I guess a Noel solo album getting to number 1, and being the biggest seller of that year is what I would like.

If Oasis is even *nominated* for a Grammy i will soil myself. Oasis were nominated for two grammys in 1996 for Wonderwall and another in 1998 for the video for All Around the World.. the first two they lost to to Dave Mathews band and the 3rd to Pearl Jam..

I remember that, they were also asked to record a "Bond" theme tune for the film, but they turned it down and said Blur should record the theme tune as they were English, and Oasis were Irish. A Bond song would of been a little achievement.

As long as they continue making great albums, I'm pleased with that. I don't get a lot of you guys here who say they hope they will make one more classic album. Be a little more positive and say instead that you want five more classics. As long as the boys still love making music, I think they will be around forever. So, you could probably say that I hope their last achievement will be outlasting The Rolling Stones.
And to play Knebworth four days in a row ;D

I too of course want Oasis to get more recognition than they currently have, and a grammy too
But at the end of the day, we're the die hard fans, hardly matters. All I want are AT LEAST 3 more albums, and AT LEAST 1 more classic
I hate how we all think Oasis cant top DM. Even I will occ say that. But why not? Nothing is perfect, and therefore DM is beatable. We should be encouraging the lads to produce an album of that quality, rather than passively accepting it will never happen.
Mark my words, this 2008 album will be special. Maybe not better than DM, but it will be monumental nonetheless. I can't wait.

grammys are shit. when will you people realize that? I agree. But it would get them the recognition. When I argue with my friends over U2 vs. Oasis, they ask mockingly how many grammays Oasis have won. Oasis > U2. I can't fucking stand Bono. That twat.
