I'd love to see Noel do something like Neil Finn did with "7 Worlds Collide" - just ring up his favorite drum, bass, guitar, and keyboard players that aren't in Oasis, and play just a couple of shows of Noel's favorite songs.

To say that Noel needs Liam is implying that he lacks something what does he lack? hes the greatest songwriter ever, superb singer, great musician, fantastic frontman, best interviewee in music, coolest "rock star" presently (and has been for some years now) - what other quality could he possibly need? saying that Noel and Liams qualities compliment each other perfectly to create a great band and image is fair enough, but Noel Gallagher certainly doesnt lack anything whatsoever, or need anybody else at all. Noel is not as a superb frontman as Liam. He has admitted that. Yes I think that he is the greatest songwriter, a great singer, interviewer and such... But Noel is not a rock n roll frontman in my eyes, there is a difference between a singer and a frontman. Liam has the swagger that Noel does not have as singer... In respect to Noel. Noel's style of "fronting" is entirely different to Liam's, but that doesn't make it less effective or great. Have you seen/heard his semi-acoustic gigs and the gigs he did when Liam was unable to sing, throughout the years? Well, I'm sure you have - doesn't Noel have the crowd 1000000000% hyped up, begging for more and eating out of his hand?!?!!?! He is THE BEST frontman I have ever seen, and that's not to put down Liam, who is fantastic. Lastly, just because Noel said he isn't as good as Liam, doesn't follow that this is true. I posted this in another topic, but he should be a hell of a lot more self-confident about his own abilities than he actually is.

I'd be down with it. imho, Noel's stuff without Oasis seems to be a bit more 'experimental' (i loosely use that word) than most of his stuff with Oasis. Teotihoucan (sp?) being a prime example of that. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he ended up coming out with a solo album that was more Chemical Brothers-esque than Oasis-like. I would LOVE to hear a Noel solo album which was experimental!! I love the work he has done outside Oasis and this allows him to experiment and make music which is entirely different to what is expected from the band. i think he is a little (I use that term very, very loosely) held back within the band, to be honest. I wouldn't see the point in him doing a solo album which was simply "Oasis Music But Released As Noel Gallagher".
