Since there's been so many rumors and BS flying around lately, I just wanted to clarify what is indeed fact, and what is not...And when I said fact, I mean that it came from either Noel's mouth, Liam's mouth, or from a real NME or Q article, etc...OK here's what I know is true...
1. I Wanna Live A Dream WILL be on the album 2. There will be no acoustic on it (even though I don't believe Liam) 3. There's going to be orchestras and choirs 4. It's going to be psychedelic 5. It's going to focus on the "grooves" (I assume that means bass) more and be less "songy"
Anyways that's all I can recall. And like I said, there's been so many things being said about this new album, it's almost like I forgot what is true and what isn't. Here's a couple things I'm not sure about...
Was "The Boy With the Blues" confirmed to be on this upcoming album?
Was "Stop the Clocks" confirmed to be on this album?

I had to edit your title, the term Official is a bit of an overstatement....thanks for your cooperation

is there any consensus about when the album will come out. when the first single will come out and when a warmup tour and full-out tour will start?

We cannot confirm anything. As of this moment everything is speculation. There has not been any official word. We just have to play the waiting game.

We don't really know IF any of this is true.
1. Was stated over a year ago, and since then there has not been anything current mentioned about what is or isn't on the album aside from the Daily Star, which is hardly a bastion of journalism integrity. It was first stated as being on the record in an NME interview in January 2007, anything else mentioning it (the recent real Q "preview" etc) is using that old information. We've heard nothing from the proverbial horses mouth that this song made the final mix/cut.
2. Yet there's a picture of Noel in the studio on Oasisinet with an acoustic. There is literally no chance there are no acoustics on the record, at the least they're accompaniment tracks.
3. Again, see the NME interview/article from January 2007. It's not a certainty this is true as of 2008. I tend to believe there are elements of both, since Abbey Road is exactly the type of studio that can handle this sort of thing, but not truth yet, and definitely not confirmed.
4. Hyperbole. Psychedelic can be interpreted differently by different people.
5. More hyperbole. While one may say it focuses on the "grooves" another may think its a lyrical focus. It's all down to the listener. It says nothing about what it actually sounds like.
In short, we know absolutely nothing as fact regarding this album. The band have been extremely quiet about it. The most recent quotes are Liams, but they're still 6 months old and who knows what happened during mix etc. Virtually every article that has been released in the last 2 months uses information that has been out there for over a year about this record. The Daily Star claims to have a spy, but until something is concrete, we don't know that for sure.
I'm not intending to be rude by nitpicking your list, but there really is nothing yet factually known about this record, other than that they recorded at Abbey Road, Dave Sardy produced, and it's coming out this year.

Noel also confirmed a song called "Let it Come Down Over Me", and said that Gem had one similar to "Hard days Night"

Great topic! Was thinking about making one of these myself.
I doubt there will not be any acoustic guitar on it though. I find that a bit weird. Even though it comes from Liam. But who knows? It may be right.
I do look very very forward to hearing what the songs with orchestras will sound like.

Just because it's a real NME article doesn't say very much.

Like I said in another thread, an Oasis album with no acoustic guitar is like a Billy Joel or Elton John album with no piano. Plus if this album is indeed psychedelic, then I really can't see them not having any acoustic on it. But then again, Roll It Over had no acoustic guitar and that was a fuckin awesome psychdelic rock song

Just thought I'd update this topic a little:
1: Album will have 11 - 12 song 2: The new single is Four and a half minute long 3: More R&R orientated 4: The album is completely finished, and the band are currently waiting to get a record deal. 5: The band currently stand between three different types of artwork.
Please fill me inn if I've left something out.

I know Noel stated that they're looking for a record deal, but i was quite certain that they already had one with Universal. Are they only signed to Universal for distribution to certain countries?

The album should be out anywhere between August and September, if you look at things from the tour dates, and if you trust the fat Gallagher

2: The new single is Four and a half minute long This is something I think that has been taken as true when in fact it might not be the case. I've read the article it originated from, and given Noels sense of humour I've taken it as him teasing the interviewer with "the new single will be........" to lure the interviewer into thinking hes about to get a nugget of info, a release date, or at least a track title and then ;D finishes with "........4 and a half minutes long". I think he's taking the mickey here and this isnt actual information as such. Anyone else read it like me?

Liam will sing most of the songs, Noel will sing a some too. There will be guitars on it. That's all I feel really comfortable assuming.

No we don't. But most of this is coming from interviews with the Gallaghers, and not some fucking tennis players. So I guess you can say that at least it's some reliable info, even though the Gallaghers have done a 180 before on some things (ie: Noel dropping Stop The Clocks right before Don't Believe The Truth being released).
