Where most weeks theres rumours about release dates, track titles etc etc, its always very exciting when oasis are about to release a studio album because people know that oasis write some fucking excellent tunes & i really think they can write their best ever album to date with this one, they really could produce some mind blowing stuff, melodic, orchestra inspired quality tunes, remember "whatever" ? Whatever happens we'll get quality tunes as this is oasis & i for one cant wait till her this new album.

this album *could* be better than WTSMG
i find WTSMG beatable
but as for DM, Oasis will never create another album with a collection of amazing tunes such as Rock n Roll Star, Live Forever, Columbia, Supersonic, and Slide Away.
but yes, i too have a feeling too that this new album is gonna be mega and will blow us all away

I think Definitely Maybe is a great album. But for some reason it's considered blasphemous to mention anything like "I think the new album could beat it" or anything like that. If Oasis could make an album as good as DM, why couldn't they make one better? What if instead of Digsy's Dinner Noel had put Champagne Supernova on there. That would make it better.
I agree with the first post though. I can't wait for this record!

I'm not that excited. I'm expecting another alright album, but Oasis will never again reach the highs of the DM to BHN era, it's just not gonna happen and if you think they can you're kidding yourself. They don't care as much as they used to, they don't have anything that important to say, surrounded by "yes" men and Dave "Bland" Sardy is again producing. To me its a bit like expecting another Exile on Main street from the rolling stones. Who knows i might be wrong but the odds are probably 10/1

I really think they can write their best ever album to date with this one, they really could produce some mind blowing stuff, melodic, orchestra inspired quality tunes Orchestras usually ruin rock music. Yeah. I also remember disliking the studio version because it sounded bad. The solo acoustic versions are the best. i find WTSMG beatable but as for DM, Oasis will never create another album with a collection of amazing tunes such as Rock n Roll Star, Live Forever, Columbia, Supersonic, and Slide Away. That is laughable. You must feel inspired if you're challenging their peak. Go write a good song and gather yourself.

Orchestras usually ruin rock music. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard Ha! I gotta go with StopTheClocks on this one. Something tells me Beethoven and Bach didn't ruin their music by using orchestras instead of beatboxes and synthesizers. Just a guess.

I certainly don't think orchestras ruin rock songs. The Verves Bittersweet Symphony quickly comes to mind. As for Oasis songs All Around The World and Whatever are great examples of good songs with orchestras in them. It makes the a bit more stand out and special. But everyones entitled to their own opinion I guess.

Since when were Beethoven and Bach rock music?
Orchestras are often the proverbial polish on a turd.
There are some obvious exceptions Bittersweet Symphony, Eleanor Rigby, Out Of Time (The Rolling Stones) etc etc

I'm not looking forward to an orchestra addition. Look what it did to Be Here Now Maybe a cello here and there would be ok, but not a full fucking orchestra

Well obviously you are going to be able to pick and choose your own highlights.
I said nothing about The Masterplan. I mentioned BHN.
I have no problem with a small string section like on SCYHO. Not a full orchestra.

orchestra's can help make songs so much better in my opinion, they just make them epic and stuff. I can't wait to see how it turns out.. To each their own i suppose

its just my opinion, but i think that orchestration is one of the best things to ever happen to rock music. as far as oasis goes, scyho, whatever, wonderwall, all around the world, masterplan dont go away are all great songs that used strings and orchestras. i think especially the orchestra in aatw was magical. two of my favorite artists, ian brown and hard-fi i think use orchestras really well. i cant wait to see what oasis does with it now, might be even better than be here now
