I wonder how many extras they want, it might be loads. Technically, anyone who saw Oasis in Manchester last year has already been an extra in an Oasis video, what with Let There Be Love 'n' all that.

Hi there
you have made it on to the shortlist for the oasis video cast. To make the final list all you need to do is give us a bit more information about yourself.
Also you should note that there is no payment for appearing in the video nor will we be covering travel expenses.
If you are still interested in being apart of this video and you can definitely make on the night of TUESDAY 12 SEP 2006, please reply to this email with your:
NAME MOBILE NO HEIGHT LOCATION CURRENT HAIR COLOR
Many thanks
Maria @ HSI LONDON

I got an e-mail confirming my place in the video yesterday afternoon. Spoke to the woman as well and she was saying it's just a few hours filming and can I confirm I can make it.
The e-mail alos asked if I have an oriental friend and if I have could I send their info to her and they can appear in it.
Think the rumour is that they're supposedely re-recording Acquiesce in Japan so gonna give it that feel that they recorded the video there so want a lot of oriental's in the video. I'm personally not one. Anybody else got through?

I doubt it would be just for Japan. But you never know, and if it is I'll be annoyed. I'm in the shortlist - what sort of pictures did you lot send?

:oFrom oasisinet.com-forum:
"Hey everyone! We just returned from the Oasis video shoot outside of Tokyo! I can confirm that the video was for 'Stop The Clocks'!
We arrived about an hour early, and stood in line while they gave us instructions. They told us that the majority of the video will be in black and white. When we got inside, there were two stages set up. Then, they started playing parts of the new song over the PA. Much to our surprise, it was a new song - NOT 'Acquiesce'.
Then the first verse came in, and it was 'Stop The Clocks' (same lyrics as have been available from the Liverpool gig for years). It is sung by Noel!
Then, about 20 minutes later, Oasis came out. (Well, Noel, Andy, Gem, and Liam pretending to play the drums! lol!!) They were dressed in their usual stage attire.
Noel had his cream coloured Telecaster... Gem had his 12-string acoustic... and Andy had a new Rickenbacher bass!! And as I mentioned, Liam sat behind the drum kit with huge sunglasses! haha
On the second stage, 5 Japanese men came out dressed similar to Oasis.
One played a cello, one played the banjo, one had a sitar, one had a piano, and the other guy continually wound a HUGE clock counter clockwise.
They filmed for about 2-3 hours. Basically, they were performing live (both stages). We talked to some of the Oasis crew afterwards, and they said that the single and video of 'Stop The Clocks' is being used to promote the new film, 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down'.
Anyway, the song is INCREDIBLE. It's long (about 5.30)... and has many different layers and textures and instruments.... it gradually builds throughout the song.... starts off acoustic guitar and piano, then the bass comes in, then electric guitars and drums.... in the second verse, the cello and banjo come in.... and then during the solo, it is electic guitar and sitar!
FANTASTIC!!!"

So a stand-alone single and video then? With an album of the same name being released but the song not on it... I'm confused

What do you guys make of XFM's latest report-- www.xfm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=271037"Oddly, the album doesn't appear to include the title track, ‘Stop The Clocks’, a song originally recorded for inclusion on the album 'Don't Believe The Truth' which Noel has previously is one of the best things he's ever written. However the band are filming a video for the song in London on Tuesday September 12 (for more info click here) which would suggest a 'Whatever'-style one-off single release." I´m only hoping it would be true. Still sceptical.

So there's a possibility they're releasing a movie, greatest hits and stand-alone single all at the same time. Are the rumours that they're curating an art exhibition of Liam's experimental nude art true as well? (oh, and wouldn't releasing Lord Don't Slow Me Down to promote the film make more sense? Or is that being used for Stop The Clocks? I'm very confused ;D)
