....or so claims the SUN. Read on
Oasis singled out ... again September 06, 2006 I HEAR OASIS are to re-release the single Acquiesce in time for the launch of their greatest hits album.
Sources tell me that, despite not being happy at putting out the album, they have agreed to re-record the track.
The band are flying out to Japan next week to film the video. Then, after just a couple of days, they will return to London to finish it off.
U2 did a similar thing with Sweetest Thing.
They re-recorded the track to tie in with their Best Of CD in 2002.
Some Might Say Oasis are ripping off someone else’s

I've always felt that the recorded version of Acquiesce was never as good as the version performed live.

I've always felt that the recorded version of Acquiesce was never as good as the version performed live. Same here. I love how they sped up the song at live shows, not to mention the vocals are usually better.

it'd be great if they did re-recrod acquiesce because its such a good track
but... does that really sound like something Oasis are likely to do?

Do they really come to Japan to shoot the video? Where is that shot in?

This is the worst bullcrap I've read this year. Well the theory that it's been re-recorded might not be true, but the fact that Acquiesce is coming out as a single is almost certainly true.

Its going to be the exact same vocals, dont expect anything changed to much, theyll take out the morning glory intro, and make it more radio freindly

I think they could definitly improve the song. Make it more like during the BHN era, with the more guitar in the intro and everything else. IF it comes out as a single (and not Stop the Clocks which might be it) I think it can really be a massive hit, even in the US.

i might be way off here, but... wasn't acquiesce released in North America when the Masterplan came out? why else would they have made that awful video for it?

When they perform it live Liam sounds like crap and he always skips a whole verse... I think it's the lamest song live....

Havent they got anything better to do? We want to hear Stop The Clocks, not a song we've had for over a decade now.

Why they would do a new video for Acquiesce? One thing is to do a new good production like Supersonic and Live Forever that were damn awful when first released. They should save the money to buy a new pair of glasses, if it's true, it's damn stupid.

Oasis flying all the way to Japan to film a video for Acquiesce? That sounds pretty farfetched to me.

The Gmex version was great as it was, the vid was brilliant too.
starkey's intro is better than alans imo, but for the rest theres not a lot of difference imo.

Seriously, regardless of who is drumming on it, i can't believe they are gonna do this. One of the great things about the song was that it was hidden away on a b-side and wasn't very well known to non-fans of the band.
Plus the original is perfect. The production, Liams vocals, everything, I bet the new version is shit.

Yeah but Noel is a geek I love the drumming on it myself. Just that little shuffling beat all the way through, almost like a dance track. No stadium rock type fills etc.
